Why Vancouver?

Hi there!

I am considering moving to Canada wth hubby to be and baby son of 21 months. We have visited a few places in Canada (Victoria, Richmond, Whistler, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Niagra....) and a few others along the way over the past few years but when you visit as a tourist, its difficult to experience the true culture of a city/town.

I suppose my question to you would be - what is the day to day culture and lifestyle like in Vancouver and how would this compare to other places is this hugely diverse country?

I am 27 years old, currently live in Scotland (and yes a highland dancer!) enjoy the outdoors and the countlyside but also enjoy city culture i.e. shopping, coffee, nightlife…

That sounds a bit like a CV! I just want to make sure we choose somewhere that matches our desired lifestyle as its such a big decision to emigrate that I want to make sure I get it right for us.

Auditions

Pirates of Penzance Performance days are May 13 to 23 (move in May 10). Tech May 10, Dress May 12.

This will be an extremely fun community event for people ages 16 and older.

For auditions please try to sing something from Gilbert & Sullivan or a Broadway standard. An accompanist will be provided for auditions or you may bring along a cd without words. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist and plan to sing 16 bars only. Dancers are encouraged to do a song and dance number is they have one prepared. A list of your past performance experience is helpful.

New Members are always welcome. To audition you must be at least 16 years old. 25 men and women are required.

Tuesday 6th 7:30-10pm at Valley View 14644 - 72nd Avenue, Surrey
Thursday 8th 7:30pm-10pm at St.Cuthberts 116th 11601 - 82nd, Avenue Delta

Dance callbacks Sunday Jan. 11 2 pm – 5 pm. Acting callbacks Sunday Jan 11 7 pm – 10 pm.

Character descriptions: Ages are guidelines only.
Frederic— Age: 18—30, Voice: Tenor
Major General -
Mabel— Age: 16—26, Voice: Soprano
Ruth- Age: 40—70, Voice: Mezzo
Edith- Age 15—25, Voice: Soprano
Samuel- Age 21-40, Voice: Baritone
Sargeant- Age: 25—50, Voice: Baritone.
Pirate King- Age: 30—60, Voice: Baritone
Isabel- Age: 15—25, Voice: N/A
Kate= Age 15-25, Voice: Mezzo
Ensemble – Consists of pirates, daughters and policemen of various ages and vocal ranges.

At this time, we do not plan to double pirates with the policemen.

Hello all,

Looking towards dropping everything I’m doing now (I work an office job) and starting a career in fashion. I’m going to be honest - I don’t have the drawing skills and my sewing skills are minimal - home ec 12!

If anybody can offer any advice as to what schools to attend, or how I can get my foot in the door - I’m more than willing to start off at the bottom of the foodchain!

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

It’s a question to all Mitsubishi Delica owners to say something what you think of the camper vans you all use. What’s your opinion about these vans? Are they all worth while driving with the wheel on the right side of the vehicle…
