Hello all,

Looking towards dropping everything I’m doing now (I work an office job) and starting a career in fashion. I’m going to be honest - I don’t have the drawing skills and my sewing skills are minimal - home ec 12!

If anybody can offer any advice as to what schools to attend, or how I can get my foot in the door - I’m more than willing to start off at the bottom of the foodchain!

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Thanks!

It’s a question to all Mitsubishi Delica owners to say something what you think of the camper vans you all use. What’s your opinion about these vans? Are they all worth while driving with the wheel on the right side of the vehicle…
Maybe we all will form a club of these camper vans..., what do you think???

Concord Pacific Photo Competition $5,000 1st place

Celebrating two decades of Concord Pacific Place—the ground-breaking master-planned neighbourhood on the Expo 86 lands at North False Creek—Concord Pacific Group is launching a community photo contest. Judged by esteemed architect Arthur Erickson, TV host Erin Cebula, BC Lions’ President Bob Ackles and former Canucks owner Arthur Griffiths, prizes in the Reflections + Projections competition total more than $15,000.

The themes are split between ‘reflection’—looking back on the past 20 years’ evolution of Concord Pacific Place—and ‘projection’, which will creatively explore the community’s future development. Both categories are set to attract a wide range of photographs including those of people, memorable moments, architecture, skylines, scenery, streetscapes, and activities at one of Vancouver’s most notable developments.

While black-and-white and colour photographs and photographic images are acceptable, aspiring Jeff Walls who use techniques such as image manipulation, modification and illustration are also encouraged to enter their artistic creations.

“Twenty years is a significant milestone in our history, and the community photo contest will be an inventive way to celebrate this with our community,” says Terry Hui, President and CEO of Concord Pacific Group. “Through Reflections + Projections, the community will not only be able to look back on the evolution of Concord Pacific Place but also fast-forward their vision for the site. We really want to celebrate Vancouverites’ memories and look for budding visionaries.”

There will be a total of 12 awards including a $5,000 first prize, $2,000 second prize, $1,000 third prize and additional honourable mention awards for each of the two categories. Winners of the contest, which forms part of Concord Pacific’s 20-year celebrations this Fall, will be announced and prizes awarded at a special reception this fall at the Concord Pacific Presentation Centre, 88 Pacific Boulevard. Submissions will be accepted from today to August 31, 2008.

To enter and for more contest details and rules, please log on to http://www.celebrate20years.com
