General seating on an open grass field. If the weather is nice it is a great night out. concerts usually start around 5pm and last until 10pm or 11pm depending on back up bands etc.
REM , Cindy Lauper with a bunch of guests , and Feist are all showing as upcoming out door concerts.

I saw John Fogerty and Jim Cuddy at this place last summer the weather was great at the time. Made for a super concert. A whole different feel then sitting in GM place or somewhere like that!
You can take small cameras, even though they say “NO cameras. As long as they are not big 35mm or professional looking. You can also bring in sealed water. If it is open they dump it out. You take a BIT of food but they prefer you to buy from one of the tons of food consessions set up. so if you show up with a picnic basket you may not get it in. I think I took a sandwhich and had no problem.
the thing is you usually get there before dinner and are there until night fall, so you will need to eat unless you want dinner at 3pm!
Parking sucks so if you can take a bus or get dropped off is best.
No lawn chairs, or umbrellas allowed. I did see a couple of people bring those fold up small matts that have a back support. Most people just brought blankets.
Concerts like this is a gamble with the weather if it was to rain I would think it would be yucky, with sunshine they are awesome!
the only problem I did have, is with some people smoking right beside me.[I don’t smoke]

It is a great venue if the weather co-operates.  We were there to see Bjorn.  She was incredible.  The next day I found out on the DV forum a few of us were there but never knew.

Re: True Colors Tour

Yes, i will be there as part of the 80 odd people for security.

:edited: I do the Palmer house by the trail on Deer Lake Park Ave so rather than discussing Facebook problems, gimme a boo!

Please enjoy the show, and strike up a conversation with the bloke in front of you trying to heckle the girls, alright, to distract his attention.

Thanks, and try to pee in the portapotties and not in the east wooded area or hopping the low fence to use the VIP loos.

Enjoy!

I missed this concert. My husband had no interest in any of the people playing! I think it was definetly geered towards women and gays!
My girlfriends were busy that day too.
Well everyone had nice weather for it, I am sure it was lots of fun.
I will keep an eye out for future concerts in the park!

As posted on another thread there are lots of free beach concert happening on the North Shore beaches, no big names just locals entertaining people while they have a day at the beach/park. I think Fridays at Panarama or cates[not sure which] they have sunday afternoon concerts at Lonsdale Quay. Also possible concerts at Dundarave you will have to check that one out.
