Hello all,

Looking towards dropping everything I’m doing now (I work an office job) and starting a career in fashion. I’m going to be honest - I don’t have the drawing skills and my sewing skills are minimal - home ec 12!

If anybody can offer any advice as to what schools to attend, or how I can get my foot in the door - I’m more than willing to start off at the bottom of the foodchain!

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Thanks!

I don’t know about the Passion.  My daughter has a fashion design degree (4 years) from Kwantlen and wouldn’t even look at Helen Lefeaux.  Also I think Bonita Buttaface needs to do some work before she applies anywhere as she needs a portfolio to get in any real institution.

Kwantlen is good as well but I have a soft spot for Helen as she was the person who taught me how to draft a pattern, history of fashion and not to mention her numerous stories of how she got started.  Recently I met someone who is a graduate of Helen’s school and is in next season’s Project Runway.

I think BonitaButtaface doesn’t have enough skills for Helen Lafaux as it such a short program you have to go in with some expertise.  I know of one student that did both Helen Lafaux then Kwantlen now has her own business.

Chicago, the “windy city″ is known for its multicultural population as well as its dramatic architecture and love for the arts. In detail, Chicago has:
1. at least 3 million people 2. harbors, parks, beaches, clubs, and ethnic restaurants 3. 29 miles of lakefront, museums, neighborhood festivals, and cultural attractions
People visit the city as often as winds do. Also, tourists favor the mid-western hospitality of the people. They also share stories of their enjoyment in going to exhibits in museums like Degas, Monet, and the whimsical “Cows on Parade” of Summer 1999.
