Hi all,

I will soon land in Vancouver and I am a little confussed as I heard that VAN is not the city for theatre. I acted in my origin country and I would like to do this as a profession. I am talking about theatre not cinema. So, are there any good schools and REAL possibilities for me to get into this ?

If not, what city would you recommend for theatre acting ?

Then you should go to Toronto or Montreal. There’s not much support for Live Theatre here, except the movie industry. Work for Extras maybe. Mind you, theatres these days are having a difficult time, with budget cutbacks and people not spending anymore.  Their revenues are drying up and some will have a difficult time keeping open. As for art, painting, it’s NY or Toronto, Montreal, I should think. But again, the economy doesn’t make it that easy these days.
