Dear Ladies and Gents
I am thrilled to invite you to this year’s “Capture the Spirit of Africa” event on November 27 2009.
Last year’s event was a great success, and we promise you an even more glorious night.
I am particularly excited for this year’s event as we are showcasing the beautiful organic cotton garments fabricated by the Widows and Orphans at Centre Cesar in Kimironko, Rwanda.
Since last year’s event I had the pleasure and amazing opportunity to meet this community in Kimironko, Rwanda. I was in Rwanda for 2 months and lived in Kimironko village with a family of 7 in their humble home and experience life in Rwanda for myself. Rwanda is a beautiful and safe country and what makes it even more remarkable is the love and warmth the people exude even after a tragic Genocide in 1994 where almost one million people were massacred in just 100 days.
It will be an evening of fun, passion, beauty and inspiration to see how far this wonderful community have come and see the gorgeous work they are producing.
You will meet the compassionate Johanne St.Louis, a prominent Canadian Fashion Designer from Ontario and founder of Dreamyz Loungewear http://www.dreamyz.ca who will share the story of what inspired her dream to teach this group of individuals to sew and bring positive change to their lives. Wholeheartedly working closely with UBUNTU and dedicating herself to mentoring these inspiring and courageous women.
Great Christmas gift ideas while making a difference in the lives of families in Rwanda.
