Moulin Rouge

The Royal Winnipeg Ballet presents Moulin Rouge.
A Paris cabaret is the setting for this romantic and risqué new ballet. The Moulin Rouge club opened with much celebration in 1889 and was soon a gathering place for bohemian Paris in the early 20th century.
Known for the Quadrille, the Can-Can and and a cast of talented, outrageous dancers known as the Diamond Dogs. When the Moulin opened, Paris was a place of many lifestyles… art was both put on a pedestal and far reaching in it’s definition. The rich ran hand-in-hand with poverty and hardship, and the way of life in Paris was often reckless and addictive.  Paris beckoned Matthew and Sandrine seeking love and destiny in the infamous cabaret… The Moulin Rouge
