Citytv’s Master Chef Competition, Presented by: Blackwood Career Apparel
The sixth annual Citytv’s Master Chef Competition (Iron Chef style) will take place at EAT! Vancouver May 23 - 25, 2008, where 17 chefs from British Columbia will compete for the title in a head-to-head heated competition witnessed by an inquisitive audience. Black box cooking competitions are considered the most challenging of culinary competitions because the food content of the boxes is not revealed prior to the event. The pressure of competing is compounded by the unknown ingredients. The chef has to accept the challenge of devising a main course from the Black Box by using only the foods the box contains. Once open, it’s up to the chef’s creative talents to come up with an innovative idea and prepare it in the 35 minute time allotted.

Barbecue & Chili Competition
Barbecue teams cooking, smoking, barbecuing, marinading beef, pork, sausage, chicken, musk ox, hamburgers. Chili-heads cooking big pots of fiery hot chili. Thousands of dollars in prizes. In 2005 The Canadian Festival of BBQ and Chili moved to a new host location: EAT! Vancouver, The Everything Food + Cooking Festival, and is back for a third time at EAT! Vancouver at BC Place Stadium again on May 23, 24 & 25, 2008.

*Check back for more information on the stage schedule for FoodNetwork, HomeSense, Grapes & Hops, and the Dairy Farmers of Canada Cheese Seminar.  These times will not be available until after May 1st.
