why do old men tend to marry young girls? you have george clooney, tom cruise, hugh hefner, and the list goes on. but you almost never see young men marrying old women. why the discrimination?

I however dont think its just because of babies (even males who already have children and dont want anymore rarely marry women older than them).
Its because old women are fugly and are attractive only to males who old women successfully programmed to believe young women are a perversion.

Physically, a lot of the features that make a man attractive make a woman look ugly, and as both sexes age these features are enhanced. I wouldn't go as far as to say men continue to get better looking or stay the same, but we never become repulsive in the same way that women do. Also, men generally reach their peak physical attractiveness at around 30. For women, it's like 18 max.

Another thing: guys' looks don't mean much to women anyway, unless a guy's either ridiculously good looking or has something seriously wrong with him. However, a woman's looks mean everything to guys, whether she be ugly, average, cute, hot, etc. When we look at women who could be potential partners, we see a 9, a 7, a 5... whatever she may be on the looks scale. That's really all we see.

Just take a look at how many women (especially younger women) find guys like Hugh Laurie, Sean Connery, and Christopher Hitchens hot. Then take a look at their female equivalents, and see how much male attention they get.

Simple. Women spend a lot of time babysitting the children. The last thing they want to do is babysit a 20 year old man.

even guys of your same age can be babes. unless this woman is super rich and good looking, usually happened more to singers/actresses/artists, though i knew quite a few guys dating/dated older women, i mean 10 years or even 20 years older

There are women who date or marry younger guys but sooner or later they find out their just taking care of another kid. So women don't stay long in these kinds of relationships. I know guys that married older women and every one ages. I certainly doesn\'t mean men age well physically, but as they get older they tend to be more respectful to women unless they are desperate types.

I watched a show on tv last night , fimed in Canada and they said that lots of younger women are attracted to men in their 40s. I had no idea that was actually true. It was a forum show with 2 men and 2 women discusing issues. The women said its because 40 something men are usually no longer immature like 20 something men, are more sexy because of their worldly attitude and still look good usually in their 40s. Plus the woman liked that most men in their 40s are over the bar thing and running around drinking with the guys all the time.

^ Yep , you are realling leaving yourself open. I would tend to agree with you, but there are a lot of fine looking women over 35 walking around - MILFS , for lack of a better description.

I myself generally have no interest in women close to my age (generally not concrete) because by then most have had several failed relationships/marriages (who knows whos fault it is) they have kids sometimes so they are even more used to nagging on a daily basis and probably had baggage, a chip on their shoulder and a distrust in men. Younger women are generally more optimistic about life and have a happier outlook. Nt to mention normally look alot better too
