Up here it is called Canada Safeway. They have enough mangement to pay attention to what is going on and to do the right thing. Clearly, CANADA SAFEWAY did the wrong thing. How is it a SAFE way to shop? CANADA Safeway is still OWNED by the USA Safeway and must follow their directives |

I haven't shopped at Safeway for more than emergency items, in years! They were once of the first companies to make their employees poor - $20+ per hour employees working next to $8 per hour employees for the same job!

Who cares if it's made in plant 97B. The way the list keeps growing I wouldn't trust any of it anymore! What's not to trust? Which of the following two camps do you fall under? 1. You're perfectly healthy 2. You're at deaths door If you answered "1".. Congratulations!! You can eat as much of the tainted meat as you like - and the worst you'll get is a stomach ache (maybe at worst - the squits). If you answered "2".. Ah well. The meat will probably kill you.. But as you were at deaths door anyhow.. It probably did you a favor and put you out your misery! |

I worked at Safeway for 12 years and believe me that store is run from San Francisco. In this digital age there is no reason an international business like that cannot have one head office that makes all the decisions. The CEO was Steve Burd back when I worked there and our store would regularly get memos sent out directly from San Francisco with directives on how operations were to be run.
