CKNW Breaking News..
The coroner's jury examining the police shooting death of 16-year old Kyle Tait in 2005 has ruled his death a homicide. The 5-person jury has made 8 recommendations. They include installing video cameras in all police patrol cars, mandatory sight and hearing tests for officers every year, mandatory stress and anger management workshops and the immediate re-assignment or suspension of an officer involved in a lethal force shooting or causing bodily harm. Coroner's jury recommendations are not binding. |

As I recall, Tim Allen was a drug dealer and did time. He turned out pretty good. Your comments are quite dangerous. Attention: REGISTER / LOGIN to view the image! |

And Tait's mom is a real piece of work as well. No, her little angel and the POS driver aren't the least bit culpable.

"Murder is the unlawful killing of another human person with malice aforethought, as defined in Common Law countries. Murder is generally distinguished from other forms of homicide by the elements of malice aforethought and the lack of lawful justification."

The term homocide only states that the individual who died did so because another person caused his death. It does not mean that it was a crime or unwarrented.
There has never been any doubt that Kyle Tait died because he was shot by a police officer. That by definition is homocide. There was never any question of that in this case. The question is whether the officer that shot him was justified in doing so. The coroner's jury did not make a judgement on that one way or the other. The only thing they did do was to suggest that all steps must be taken to remove any possible suggestion of misconduct until the investigation is complete by re-assigning the officer in question (with pay) to a desk job. Doesn't sound to me like they found anything other than what any other investigation of this case has found: Death by misadventure and criminal behaviour by the deceased and his associates. Thats your complimentary legal opinion for the week. Enjoy. |
