I was surprised that many Vancouver Caucasian (non German heritage) don't know what an Advent Calendar is. I thought they would know. The movie National Lampoon: Christmas Vacation features an Advent calendar.

HAHAHA I am so glad I'm not the only one who does this! I'm unstoppable. My mom buys me one on December 1st, and twenty minutes later, I'm in the kitchen throwing away the calendar with my mom shaking her head at me. Attention: REGISTER / LOGIN to view the image!

Well what's the point in buying chocolate and then waiting to eat it? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Plus they make the chocolates so freakin' tiny... One of those isn't going to satisfy my sweet tooth! geez

ps, I'm talking about these advent calendars:

http://www.chizzyandbryan.com/archives/Advent%20Calendar.JPG

the milk chocolates inside each square are the size of a freaking thumbnail. How can I not be inclined to eat all 24 in one sitting?

Are your thumbs the size of my big toe? Attention: REGISTER / LOGIN to view the image! It's bigger than that. The chocolate sucks though.

Too bad, they don't have the Advent Xmas Calendar close to pure chocolate. The bitter taste of chocolate might turn you off. I don't like the Lindt almost pure chocolate.

Have you ever had pure chocolate? Too bitter for me and most people. Lindt does sell a 99% pure chocolate but you won't find it around here because it is too bitter for anyone.
Lindt 85% pure chocolate is the borderline bitter for me.
Lindt 70% pure chocolate is right for me.

I've tried all those. 99% made me spit it back out, same with 85%. 70% is tolerable, at most, but there's no way I would ever crave it lol

The .99% ones are good for baking, or adding as garnishes. Pretty bitter. I don't recommend it, hehe.

Why would anyone buy a 99% pure chocolate Lindt bar? You have to have some sugared milk nearby to kill the bitterness of that bar.
