Morning!
Are things "changing" out at YVR, with the "Global Slowdown"? Are their less flights? Less passengers? Less freight? Less jobs? |

Less pax to the US, AC domestic loads are way down, WS is growing in all aspects. Asia & Europe still booming, new carriers coming from Asia.

You must've noticed me sleeping there several times, at the airport, you know, several months ago... This post has been edited by red jack: Nov 29 2008, 08:29 AM |

I have to admit that I was a little surprised at her decision to pursue a career as a Flight Attendant... Hasn't their been like 100,000 layoffs across North America just this year? Haven't countless airlines gone bankrupt, most without much warning???
But she's young, and maybe this is the start of something much different down the road... I used to work in the grocery industry long before transit.... |

Depends where she works. Like I siad, Skyservice isn't really an airline. They're a tour operator, which means they sell the seats to vacation companies which in turn sell them to you and I. Means the carrier is basically guaranteed a profi. Sunwing is the same way. Westjet has never stopped making money. Enerjet is coming out.
Air Canada is the only one really up the creek. But that was coming recession or no recession. |

There were at least 2 morning #410's missing yesterday from 22 St Stn... One had some sort of fumes/smoke coming from near the drivers area... And then mine had electrical issues that required some parts being replaced...
I think the driver one that first one ended up in the emergency room later, because he was having some difficulty breathing... |

I think the driver one that first one ended up in the emergency room later, because he was having some difficulty breathing... That's most unfortunate. I am hoping for his well being. Sorry mate, I rant on translink like the rest of us, but it isn't your fault. There are perhaps 50 drivers killing it for the rest of us, and some seriously piss poor management. I feel sorry for you, defending your employer in such a manner whilst all they do is take take take. |
