I know lots of 20 somethings that don't see their salary job as a career, but rather just a contract for a period of time. They have no expectation that it is going to continue for 20 years, rather it is just a "contract" until they get laid off, or a new better "contract" comes along.
what happened to loyalty? what happened to doing what's best for your boss? |

Back in the day if you had a good employer, and you were a decent worker, you were set for life.
But what do workers have to look forward to now? Less pay, less benefits, no pension, downsizing, outsourcing... I've had two family members who were only a couple of years away from retirement. They worked for huge companies, they were exceptional workers, and had been loyal for decades. They were let go specifically to deny them any retirement pension. And they couldn't fight it. |

What if some people like to try different jobs? Who says you have to stay at your job for life? |

i too have the question,
were in the past people had stable jobs for life, stable families now nothing is for certain, no trust among people, no credits for words or action quality of people just go down hill anyone wonder why this happened? capitalism breeds greed, however no amount of money would make an emotionally jaded empty spirit person happy, they are just the starving ghost, keep eating though they can't taste anything and always hungry. |

I don't work as hard as I do for my "Boss" I work as hard as I do so that the company I'am working for might be profitable and keep me employed.

I'm 32 and I've had about 25 different employers in my life. I started work at 14. I've worked at drug marts, painting company, landscaping company, catering companies, numerous restaurants, fishing lodges, a working ranch, heliski companies. I like variety. I'm always looking for something better on the horizon, but I also think that it's time to settle down.

How about that employers these days see their workers as disposible and treat them like zombies?
Maybe that's why these workers are disloyal and feel no shame in leaving |
