I recently submitted an assignment, and it was not accepted by my instructor because according to her it was completely plagiarized from the course manual. The point of the assignment was for the student to do their own analysis of the content and demonstrate that they have seen the connections. However, I personally reviewed two of my classmates essays, who had both scored quite high marks.
They had transcribed entire sections from the text, and were each rewarded with a near perfect score; One of the students openly claimed that he did not contribute even one original thought in his assignment. Yet, when I did the same I was punished for it. Why? Are these the standard policies and procedures that our educational institutions enforce to actively promote and advance the status for (supposed) minority or disadvantaged students? is this a college english course? i did college english which is about essay righting and they want you to cite which is bullcrap because you are banned from using your own thoughts. this is what essay righting in colleges is all about "citing" and using MLA format
