Merhaba, Cenk.1) Do not know too much about language schools in Vancouver, just know that there are many of them here and a lot of students, especially from asian countries (China, Japan, Korea...)2) Rent will depend on location. If you want to live in downtown where the most schools are, it might cost you more. Studio would start at around 700 CAD I would say but again there are other options: you might get apartment in some other parts of Vancouver (the further from downtown the cheaper), you might get room to share with other students.3) You might find some work (like waiter, delivery person, …) where they won't ask for papers (but it's illegal)4) What is the most important thing? Bring enough money to survive at least first few months without job (just in case)5) I do not know where you get impression that people in Vancouver do not smoke. There are a lot of smokers in Vancouver. Yes, it's more restricted than in other countries, you cannot smoke in buildings, pubs, restaraunts, etc. (except in designtated areas).Ugurlar

Nasil gidiyor, Cenk? [;)]You'd be well advised to quit the nicotine addiction before arriving in Vancouver. Not only is it bad for your health (haven't you heard enough of that already? heh he he) but cigarettes are also very expensive out here as they're heavily taxed. You're already saying you might have to seek employment under the table. Then why would you want to blow the little money you have on cigarettes? Quit it, man. Just drop the habit. Hey one last point... I take it, being a young student and all you'd probably want to have some female friends, right? Your chances of finding quality female company are not very high as a smoker. Take my word for it: It's an instant turn off for most females. (But if you like trashy chicks who smoke... then it's your choice. )

Merhaba,  How has your stay been in Vancouver?  Did you find a good studio.  How about the advise on smoking?  I would love to learn some Turkish language, if you have some time please let me know and I would be happy to exchange something with you.
Best wishes.  And I hope Canadian hospitality half that what Turkish hospitality is.
May 31, 2005.
I look forward to hearing from you.
