A majority of E-coli are harmless and you have millions of benign E-coli inside your gut.

That's why they have signs that tell you to wash your hands immediately after touching the animals... not after running your hands through your hair or scratching your face. Idiots...

They could be little kids. They don't know any better. When I was a kid, I used to pick up gummy bears off the sidewalk and eat them. I didn't know about bacteria and disease. Give them kids a break.

Were the children accompanied by their parents?

...Like touch an animal which isn't considered a domesticated creature and that's whatya get.

They're probably in the mud all day, get dirt and covered in dust and their own feces.

So is it a suprise that children would contract e.coli? Not too bright to let them touch those animals like that.

It'd be like if you had a cat or dog outside all day, you never washed it, it was playing in the mud, rolling around in it's sh*t, then came inside and started rolling around on your kitchen floor and playing with the kids.

Just like you wouldn't do that sort of thing with those kind of animals, don't do it with a farm animal either.

If it was young children then the parents are idiots for not properly watching their kids....

^^ only in coloroado

I seen the clip thus my point in the pesto thread yesterday
we as parents have taken the real fighting ammunities away from our kids with this holier than holy clean trip we have been on for a couple generations now, the genes for fighting off these comon illnesses are being lost, i seen the clip and the parents were washing the kids up at the sink right at the entrance way but i also seen several kids in the clip wiping they're faces while in there, one little "china boy: was even sucking his thumb while in there

That is a good point. Cleanliness itself does keep us from developing antibodies to fight bacterias & other things.

We got damned near everything when we first went to live in Filippines including typhoid. The locals never got sick with any of the things we got as they had the antibodies

Yes, cleanliness does prevent us from building up the necessary antibodies to fight off illness, but we also live much longer now and are less likely to die from the common flu....
