So far the good part of it is lightened body hairs, that were caused by my porblem, and larger breasts. The down side is that I have gained 20 pounds and lost a lot of self confidence. I cry more often than I used to and my pimples have no cleared up all that much, and I am certain that my appetite has gone up because I am always hungry! Now that I've read some of the posts, I'm going to be switching my BC because I can now tell that it is not for me.

I am soon to switch to Diane-35. And will tell you about my progress.
Right now, Im finishing up my last pack of Allesse. I've been taking it for over a year, and I've also been taking Yasmin before I took Allesse.
And while taking the pills, Ive been on Paxil for two years. Starting Paxil was great. it definitely cleared up my skin for a year, and then BOOM, it stopped helping me. Once I got off Paxil my skin became even worse. It usually takes 2-3 months for results to appear. That's the thing with medication. If after 3 months, nothing changed, I say go back to GP and ask for something different. Now, I am looking forward to take Diane 35 - I already have severe depression with or without Allesse, So, i wonder if Diane-35 will help depression and Pre-menstrual syndrome. Allesse and Paxil almost did nothing for my premenstrual syndrome.
I still have hope... will let you know if DIANE 35 works... if it makes happy person unhappy, maybe it can make unhappy person happy! :D

I've been the same way with Allesse. Crying spells, uncontrollable anger, mood swings...
It usually happens for two weeks before my actual period.
Birth controls supposed to regulate hormones, meaning they will %$@#! with your brain, and that causes depression and more stress. The reason why i turned to BirthControl was to regulate my depressive episodes, and stop taking Paxil.
But honestly, there is nothing worse than getting off Paxil. lol

I have been on Diane-35 for about five years now. I have had no problems at all and found it to be very effective. However, I have recenlty went off it and am breaking out again, which really sucks at 34!

Anyway, what with the discomfort and the fact that I didn't have acne to begin with, I'm not going to be continuing to use this product.
And I've also read a lot of the negative press it has gotten, and thats scared me quite a bit too. Be careful.

When i was 15 i started to break out REALLY bad and tried Alesse, which didnt work. So my doctor presribed me Accutane and Diane. Worked great in 3 months my skin was perfect so i went off Accuane. I stayed on Diane 35 for other reasons and still have great skin. No side effects either.

I did some research on the internet and it seems that both Yaz and Diane 35 have the same common side effects and both are controversal drugs. Both have caused blot clots in some women. I am not going to stay on Yaz because of the headaches I have had and I am going to go back on DIANE 35. It has worked for me for over 8 years and I havn't noticed any other side effects from the taking the drug. That said I am still concerned anout the risk of blood clots and liver problems, and I am going to continue to do research about the product. Good luck to everyone!
