Doc's Crusade Against China

Does he live in China, hell no.
Does he have family in China, probably not.
He is afraid of China, because he's afraid of the competition. He knows that people like him are on the way out, that they can not compete in this modern world, and that scares the crap out of him. he is ill educated, has no real skills, and sees China taking over more and more of the unskilled labor that produces products. That is a huge threat to people like him. He has been overpaid for doing unskilled work for so long, that he believes that he is entitled to live that way.
But people will almost always buy cheaper, if they can. So, he sees his job going, and he hates the Chinese for "doing it to him". But it isn't the Chinese that are at fault, Doc Watson is at fault. He (and all those like him) priced himself right out of the world markets.
He reminds me of the story of the buggy whip manufacturer. He went to the government, asking that the new fangled automobile factories be prevented from making cars. After all, if people bought cars, they wouldn't need buggy whips anymore, and his factory would shut down.
Yes China has a repressive government. BUT, it is the best government that China has had in its entire history. It is changing, slowly, as people get more money. It will slowly, very slowly, develope more and more rights for the people.
And old Doc will be out there, screaming and fussing about how horrible China is. All because he, and his ilk, can not compete with them.

How true. He posts stupid and out of date information, adds his own spin and creates an opinion from his own self interpretations and then tries to convince DV'ers that he know what he is blatting on about. It's all pure nonesense of course, but of particular note is his utter crap about a bizzare 1000 year old Chinese/Jesuit/Rothschild conspiracy to dominate the whole planet by force.
But then what else can you expect from an obsessive and single minded dummy like DocWatson?

I expect absolutely NOTHING intelligent from the Doc and Tyler seems a little worn out and bored. Perhaps a good nights sleep will do him some good but DW has a snowballs' chance in hell of improving.
Tyler = sleepy
DocWatson = dumb

I have also been to China, several times. While I would not choose to live under their government, I can also recognize that the average Chinese person is a heck of a lot better off than they have ever been in their entire history. China politically is about where most of Western Europe was about 500 years ago. It is emerging from its own dark ages, it is still ruled by absolute monarchs, but the "nobles" (meaning the middle classes) are just beginning to force some changes through.
The China that my grandfather knew (he was a missionary there from 1902-1904) was a country where girl babies were discarded alongside the roads, where the feet of middle class girls were boud up to make them "beautiful" (and crippling the girl/woman in the process), where peasants died at an average age of about 30, where common people had no opportunity for education, etc. It was a feudal society, in every sense of that word.
China has come a long way in the past 100 years. And the majority of that progress has happened since the 1970's. Once Mao and his compatriots died off, China began to change. And that change is accelerating, rapidly.
China does not want a war with anyone. It has too much to lose, especially in a nuclear war. It is the ONLY country that can have any significant restraint on North Korea, and it is losing its influence there (the Chinese are far too modern and liberal for the North Koreans).
Doc keeps pointing out everything he possibly can that is negative about China. Yes, there is much that IS negative by western standards. But, he fails to see how far that country has come, how much better off its people really are, and he especially fears what China is becoming. Inside of another 50 years, China will be THE dominant economic power on this earth.
That scares the crap out of someone like Doc. He is threatened by the potential power there. He fails to see that as their economy grows, they have so much more to lose themselves, so the last thing they want to do is upset the applecart.

That's about as good as any rationalization I've ever seen regarding China and its present status. DocWatson fails miserably to comprehend anything that doesn't conform to his mindset though and anything that contradicts his predetermined opinions is automatically dismissed as irellivent. It's the mindset of a person with a below average iq.
DocWatson can be justifiably accused of many things, from being dumb, to a liar and a simple goof with a hatefilled mind but he can NEVER be accused of being intelligent. DocWatons personifies the word "LOSER."

Besides it gets nowhere and wastes my time.
I sense that you and I could see eye to eye at least Medic. Give it a try; maybe you'll find we have a lot in common. I think you gravely misjudge me on my understanding where China has come from as to her present incarnation. I have stated their background on many occasions I guess you weren't there and missed them or have chosen not to recognize them.
As far a colorful little stories go my father was engaged in setting up Chinese trade links through a diplomatic mission back in the 60's. The emergence of China has been in the planning works for decades and at that time was euphemistically called "The Pacific Rim" Trade Corridor. there was more to that birth than meets the eye so my dad informed me. Militarily and politically. A new order was to be created with China as nucleus.. Dad operated in utmost secrecy under the direction of Vancouver's Freemasonry, and then under Britain's. He met the Queen during this mission but there was a lot dark stuff that began to worry him as time went on. Many he would call criminals and corrupt individuals operating as spies through Freemasonry. He couldn't stand the intrigue; although warned about his demise, decided to get out of the order. Knowing this he did and subsequently before he died explained in depth what he was up to..or as much as he could. Determine as he was and although blindfolded in many cases too.

The nations politics and regurgitated culture is where I have a problem. I abhor Totalitarian Fascist Socialism as an Evil even Satanic. The people are kept like ants. They have no freedom as you suggest; and yes still remain in the 'Dark Ages' forced to have guarded conversations in secrecy in each others homes. They fear for their lives as this breaks one the main Tennant's of this Communist tyranny. Children are taught to snitch on their parents and neighbours and then the police take them off to re-education camps with no trials. Trials are only for show when in reality they dont exist! There is no justice in China.Trials are indeed rare events, for appearances only.
The torture that these people go through is unbelievable. I see no redeeming qualities in that totalitarian fascist culture of madness and fear. However I do in the people, in that they are determined to break away from this dragons grip. They hold prayer meetings and discuss the Christian bible in their homes. The older generation, abhors the Communist System. More and more are defying it. Communist, card carrying officials, are breaking way in vast numbers in todays China. This I know. Many dissidents are actively protesting, it didn't stop with the Tienanmen Massacre as many thought. Quite the contrary; it fired up a lot of their citizenry, mostly the elderly. The youth have been programmed to hate the US and their allies, and to be prepared for war. When their citizens are permitted to travel or live outside of China they must agree to act as spies...to gather information and covertly send it back to "Mother China" through their chain of command/or group links.
We as citizens of other nations specially western ones, need to act acordingly and repair this rent. We have seen this in action here on DV with the run up to the Olympic Games and all the fenqing activity. The youth are mindlessly brainwashed from an early age by the state to act as soldiers and feindishly remonstrate their nationalistic zeal. Spying is one aspect of this zeal. Disrupting web forums is another. One should be exteremy wary when dlegations and students come to our countries for long stays .
Bare in mind another thing. China does not conduct free enterprise. Free trade doesn't exist. All trade is controlled by their government I am sorry to burst some cherished bubbles here. A myth!
China's [their government] desire is not parity but dominance..A totalitarian dominance peeps.
My posts attempt to illustrate this. Some articles and academe may be considered "old" but in light of the subject there isn't such a thing as "old". Moreover all is considered. Anyone who screams 'old' or 'out of date' sadly misses the point. The dream has gestated a long way through the centuries; [more on that later/I promise] only now does it have legs!

Old Medic, we have been over this will Doc. He will never get that he is as irrelevant as he is out to date. He pisses and moans that we don't get it while this "slacktivist" sits on google all day trying to get us to read his dated drivel. Sure, we've called him on it, but he merely labels us as "howlies" or "jackals" and makes up cute little pet names. If you actually burn him in a thread with relevant and updated facts, he ignores a post for a week and revives it with another link to some 2 year old news story.
The point is, arguing with Doc is pointless. The man is clueless and doesn't possess the capacity to be anything but. The rest of us ignore him so you don't have to worry about him getting his twisted words out - they fall on deaf ears.
MJCD, really - come enjoy the rest of DV outside of Doc posts. There is a lot going on here that you could bring some value add to. You really are better than this.

Have a closer look and you will see something other than what you accuse me of. For several weeks the idiot was nowhere to be seen, hardly a peep from him but suddenly in the past few days he is flooding this board with more and more of his endless anti China lies and drivel. I had nothing to do with it. He even dredged up some of the junk that had finally died a natural death all on its own. It was Doc-dummy-Watson who brought it all back to life and absolutely and most certainly NOT ME! DocWatson is an attention whore who cannot exist without knowing his name and his junk is front and center in everyones face.
Frankly I'd love this board to be just like the good old DocWatson-free days. We won't need his junk and we sure don't need his "mentored by hidden hands" Chinese/Jesuit/Rothschild conspiracy garbage. He's a liar and a dummy.

Or to put it a bit more bluntly, "BULL S**T".
You are a paranoid fool, who believe anything negative. You and I have about as much in common as a rubber ball and molten steel. We have no possible "meeting point", because I am rooted in reality and you are routed in fantasy.
The so called "Pacific Rim" involved every country that has a coast on the Pacific Ocean, you fool. It has nothing, per se, to do with China, it involved ALL of the countries on the Pacific.
Sorry Doc, but you are so far from reality that there is simply no possibility of any form of real communication with you.

Doc, you really should visit china and talk to the locals, rather than relying on Internet-based links. Many of the people o met there rue the detrimental effects of the cultural revolution and the ways of the old china. They're people like you who just want a good life.
A lot of you dismiss/attack DW for his posts without even reading the links. Given his history of outright anti-china threads, that's understandable. It seems a liitle "off" to devote so much time and energy to one cause that none of us can really do anything about, besides a collective rock-throwing experiment.

Before, when I use to read DocWatsons posts, I noticed he posted old articles about China. History. He didn't criticize this generation of China, he was criticizing the bad history. Which you can't blame him for, I'm sure there's Chinese people out there who are doing the same. China wasn't exactly tip-top, perfect shape in the past. Fact.
As I have told people before. If you don't like DocWatson, put him on your ignore list.

Zebra,
Docs links are nothing that can't be found in looking through media archives. And yes, I have read many. A lot (I would dare to say the majority) of his stuff is not current.
My brother lived in China for years so I would get weekly stories of the craziness of this culture, not dissimilar to the stuff you posted while you were there. I have no problem hearing of the horrors that come out of China regarding standards, government, repression, oppression and having intelligent conversations about such atrocities past or present. The issue is Doc's posts is his obsessive delivery, the constant skewing of facts, the inability to accept things that have changed and bettered, and the complete lack of action from Doc who claims to care so deeply for the poor Chinese people. This is all rolled up in conspiracy theory and rhetoric. On top of that, you get the people who challenge these posts because they can't stand the one sidedness.
And once again Tyler, EVERYONE KNOWS HE CAN BE IGNORED. STFU already!
