So what's the deal with these 6 gold stars under my profile rating?

It's a silly rating system that's incorporated as a standard thing on some forum formats.

When people visit your account, they can either give you an extra star if they like you, or they can reduce your 'stars'... Kinda like a 'bless/smite' thing...

Pretty well means nothing, and isn't really a feature that is good for much Attention: REGISTER / LOGIN to view the image!

That was me. I cycled through a few proxy addies and various dummy handles until I bumped that meter back up to max.

DV is a five star outfit, so I just couldn't stand to see anything less than that on my profile.

Actually, I didn't even realize I'm a five-star man until you'd mentioned that... I rarely, if ever, look at my 'star meter'. Or my account profile for that matter.

Nah... Most here know my regular handle. Admin here has implemented a new feature that enables registered users to post as a guest without actually logging out, so every now and then I'll revert back to an old handle as a 'guest'...

I think the stars represent how close one is to getting banned.
Evidence: CIOKM -6 stars-banned
Some Regs with only a few posts-6 stars-never see them again.

That was a few weeks/months back...maybe they have a star decreasing system with time and time out.

Anyway,I don't care about such childish things...stars or not,it doesn't make one a better poster or any wiser.
