When I was a kid I was told that the main reason to be proud of being an indian is our tolerance, openmindedness, and understanding of different cultures, religions and race. The country was speciall as it had all these different groups living tougather in peace (although violence erupts ocassionally). Christians, jews, muslims and sikhs enjoyed holi/durgapuja/shivarati etc with their hindu neighbours, and hindus, christians, jews would enjoy idd with the muslims, and christmas with the christians etc... lika one big family... sadly now the masses are being incited into violence for the personal gains of a few rich and powerful... so sad...
let's all (hindu, jew, muslim, christian, sikh etc) enjoy each other... mahatma ghandhi must be rolling in his grave, the way we're behaving now...
