I voted around 1:20 today... wasn't very busy... They are asking for Picture ID & proof of your address... How is it possible to prove your address? This is something that is beyond me. A simple phone call/10 minutes online and your next bill could be coming anywhere. Why do they take this stuff so seriously? |

How is it possible to prove your address? This is something that is beyond me. A simple phone call/10 minutes online and your next bill could be coming anywhere. Why do they take this stuff so seriously? They had print outs with registered voters on the sheets that they crossed off, everytime someone voted. That information gets updated, for each Electoral District, everytime you file your income tax return. Tax return (Canada) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_return_(Canada) In addition, the return plays a role in voter registration by including a checkbox asking if the signee if they are willing to have their personal contact information included on a national voter registry which is accessible by Elections Canada and its provincial equivalents. |

StraightTalk: Goatboy isn't registered to vote in the correct riding so he is going to have to take proof of address and photo ID.

StraightTalk: Goatboy isn't registered to vote in the correct riding so he is going to have to take proof of address and photo ID. = Completely not worth it. Besides, the Liberals own my current riding, and I won't be voting for them so..... But regardless the whole "proof of address" idea is hypocrisy. |
