So anyway a friend from singapore stumbled upon this article and forwarded me the link. http://mediaclub.stomp.com.sg/hotstuff/view/page/6
this is the type of crap they think is important. :S and when they used the word "touching" i highly doubt it was full on sexual groping and rubbing. To singaporeans even just hugging or kissing in public with your partner is considered obscene. This level of unsaid restrictions they place on each other is just detestful in my opinion. singaporeans are shameful enough as it is. not because of this particular hugging and touching or whatever incident but because someone is actually nosy enough to not only take a picture of random strangers but even to post it on a website because they think its obscene. Why can't you ppl mind your own business and just acknowledge that your overly opinionated and conservative ways are just displaying how incrediby prudish and sheltered from the world you all are. Maybe this is why i tend to find asians from Singapore and Malaysia and various other South East Asian countries to take a much longer time to develope socially. i remembered one visit to singapore i was riding on the MRT, which is basically their name for the train system. Everyone was staring at me and my boyfriend because we were clearly foreigners. i didn't really mind as it was to be expected of people from a country where its not often they see westerners in their daily routines. All of a sudden they diverted their attention onto a couple, possibly in their late 20s or early 30s(either that or they were really young but had really bad skin) who were just standing near the doors hugging. That was it. They were just hugging and nearly everyone were staring as if they were celebrities. And then i heard a woman say "aiyo that is so obscene" and some teenagers discussing how shameless they were. :S I think there's seriously something wrong with that society. Its not a religious country either. And if you notice, singaporeans claim to live in a democratic society but can never seem to stand up to their government, who controls and censors just about everything. I really detest that Lee Kwan Yew. Old fart should f u c k i n g die already. Its pathetic that there are only 2 members in their parliament from the opposing party AND even though Lee Kwan Yew had stepped down as Prime Minister years ago till this day he still controls everything. Here's how he did it. First when he stepped down, he passed the position to Goh Jok Thong (or however you spell it) then he gave himself the title to Senior Minister. After Goh stepped down the position was given to Lee Sian Loong (or howeve you spell it) who is Lee Kwan Yew's son who gave his daddy the title of MENTOR MINISTER and Goh took the title of senior minister. lol democracy my ass |
