This morning I was helping my mom organize some photo albums, and it triggered so many memories. I recalled one incident, when we had gotten into an argument on a trip. She doesn't remember it at all, but I vividly remember it very well and everything we both had said. She remembers the trip (because of the photos), but doesn't remember the dispute, which is hard to believe because that pretty much was what killed the vacation. How is it that I can remember it and she doesn't? I'm sure she had suppressed it, or doesn't want to admit it.
I know memory, especially childhood memories are prone to confabulation. However, I'm convinced my memory is fairly accurate when I recall such things. Anyone else have a similiar experience?
