In Topic: understanding manipulators
Posted 19 Mar 2010
All cult leaders are emotionally manipulative people. The worst kind are those who use something good, for example ethics, to manipulate people for their own ulterior, self-serving purposes, e.g. for financial gain, ego, control, women, etc. They are true "wolves in sheep's clothing."
But like Weybridge implied, you can only lie for so long before the truth exposes you. -
In Topic: too much cleavage in the work place
Posted 17 Mar 2010
So, I was browsing the web for some standard celebrity information, and I came across this image that reminded me of this thread. I'm sorry, but if a woman at work was dressed like this and was attempting to discuss business with any heterosexual men, I would find it really difficult to believe that they would not be distracted by the cleavage:

It doesn't matter what type of clothes women wear, a man will find something attractive about it/her. Even if she is covered up, it only leaves more for his imagination to play with.
Simply not true. If a woman is wearing a nun's outfit, or an outfit that reveals little about her female figure, there won't be much to imagine except some self-concocted (pun intended) fantasy made up from the predispositions his own mind.
The truth is, if an attractive woman is going to expose her cleavage, or wear a mini skirt to reveal her nice legs, a heterosexual man is going to find it very difficult not to look unless he adheres to some moral code that he believes in that prevents him from doing so. He may be strong enough not to look while dealing with her face to face, but you can bet that he'll be looking as soon as she turns around and walks away. Such a tendency is just a reflection of the natural inclination that is inherent within us. The same type of situation would apply to a heterosexual woman if a man was good looking, had six pack abs and exposed them, or has a nice butt (whatever that is) and was wearing tight jeans, although women in general tend to be more shy (though more passionate) than men, and, thus, more concealed about it. -

...unless you plummet to your death
Here's a rather similar quote that I've always liked:
"Girls are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. The boys don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy.So the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right boy to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree."
Sometimes the journey comes with its dangers, but the rewards are worth trying for.
