I got a call from Primerica Financial twice once a man then a woman.  I looked up the company on the internet to see if they where listed on the stock exchange.  ?  I think it would be wise for people to research the internet.  Not all I found was good.  Something does not seem right to me.   It is all an art even in here!!!!!  What do you think?  I told them I was not interested.

Citigroup is listed under the symbol C

ppl are cocalled sometimes randomly or by looking at resumes on places like monster.ca. honestly i think monster.ca is a horrible website. u get ppl that pretend to be from big companies.. ppl that just plain try and scam u. and so forth. our team doesn't do calling nemore. i don't believe in that system of business either.

I think its kind of funny that anyone defending Primerica immediately begins attacking people's work ethics as their reason for not wanting to participate in the scam.  Everywhere I look I see people saying "Well those people just don't have any drive, are lazy and uneducated"  The word 'uneducated' comes into play a lot among them.

It just seems that all of these people defending the company have been programmed to say these things when their company is being attacked.  Sounds kind of cultish to me!

I was brought in for an 'interview' and walked out the second I noticed 20 other people being herded into the little orientation room.  I don't have time for that crap.  I dont' doubt that people can be successful doing that sort of thing, but then again so can drug dealers and prostitues.

Hi, I'm happy I found this website.  I asked my brother about Primerica, and he said it's a pyramid scheme with  a cult like following.  I noticed at their presentation that nothing SPECIFIC was said as to how they redirect one's money to make more.  Anyway, I care more about quality of life, and couldn't stand being so focused just on making "shitloads" of money.  Living simply and enjoying life rather than chasing the almighty buck are way more valuable to me!

if some of the people are acting "cult like", then maybe there's something wrong with them. it's not a pyramid scheme. it is MLM.

"I care more about quality of life".
So do I. which is why i seem to have found the perfect team and vehicle to accomplish that goal. don't know what i mean. u met the wrong ppl that turned u off.

caddie can i get ur contact? i like talking with other reps from other teams. see what they're doing.

Look all those negative people did tiny little research and posting very negative opinions.

Please call government and ask about the company if you really think this company should be illegal.

Some mentioned according to who and whom Citigoup is #1 in the world?  Suggestion to you, go to Chapters or other Business Magazine Stores and pick up Forbes Global 2000 and check with your own eyes.  Oh, if you have no moeny for magazine, then just stand there at the store and just read.

MLM is not for you?  just don't do it.  What are you complaining about?

Somebody from the company harrassed you? Put your phone number on "Not to Call List"  then no telemarketer or even Primerica Agents won't call you.  But too bad for you, have to live Pay Check to Pay Check.

Who am I ? I am the one of Primerica's Client.

What they have done for me?  Let see..... They changed my life.
1.  I own my house now.  Mortgage free!
2.  I am now DEBT Free......!  what I make from my job is all my availble to spend money.  I donate to poor alot more now. This called "Quality Life" (Shouldn't I do that no more, negative people?)
3.  I have enough money saved in cash to pay for my daughter's University.
4.  I have lots money saved in cash for my emergency... so I don't have to borrow no more from Credit Cards or Line of Credit.  This called also "Quality Life"
5.  My retirement investment?  Haha... this is where I get really excited...........  when I checked my last investment statement.....  I couldn't believe how much money I made.  I am so glad, I transfered my GIC RRSP to account that I learned about.  Investor Group?  "AGF" that one of Primerica is dealing with.  Curious?  Go talk to one of Primerica Agent.

You guys still negative?  Oh well.....  what can I do?  NOTHING
One thing I know?   I am the HAPPIEST person in the world.

Good luck to you all~

Wave 4 by Richard Poe

In Business Since: 1977

Financial Strength: Solid. Primerica is a subsidiary of Citigroup, a Fortune 500 company listed on the New York Stock Exchange with over $700 Billion in assets. Primerica is in a league far above the rest by having the most powerful parent company in the network marketing industry; Primerica itself is also a multi-billion dollar company.

Read About Primerica In This Best Selling Book

Management: John Addison and Richard Williams share the job of CEO of Primerica. What's interesting about these 2 PFS executives is that they've never had a job with any other company. But don't let that bother you. These gentlemen both hold MBA's and are highly experienced, not only from working for a major network marketing company, but also for a major corporation. You see, Mr. Addison and Mr. Williams have worked for Primerica since the 1980's. They've devoted their entire careers to this company, and probably know more about running it than anyone. Addison's job as CEO is to keep PFS reps motivated while Williams' job as CEO is to make sure that the PFS machine is running smoothly. The two personalities of Addison and Williams is a perfect combination that will continue to provide strong leadership for the company and their sales force, which is now over 100,000 strong and with over 6 million customers.

Management Rating: 5 Stars

Online Training & Support: An online presentation is available at Primerica.com, which is available to the public, and exclusive online support is available at callatlanta.com, which can only be accessed by Primerica representatives. Information available at callatlanta.com include personal and downline activity, updated company developments, training information, and the ability to track your performance and compare it to those in your own state, in the U.S., and around the world. Some of the things I'd like to see online is a detailed description of their compenstion plan, company provided personalized websites for each agent, and the ability to enroll online. However, online enrollment is probably not something that can be made available as easily as with other network marketing companies due to the nature of PFS products, such as insurance and securities, which are highly regulated. If you're looking for a turnkey internet business or even a business that is internet centric, you won't find it in Primerica (yet), since detailed information about the products, business opportunity, and compensation plan are not available online, and those seeking complete details will need to contact a Primerica Personal Financial Analyst directly for a personal presentation, which is usually conducted in-home or in-office.

Field Training & Support: Primerica provides the most professional training and support in the industry. This is due to the fact that a license is required to sell various Primerica products. Many who join Primerica are also insurance and real estate agents, and financial consultants. Field support is also available via a weekly satellite television broadcast on a subscription basis through DirectTV. This broadcast, conducted every Monday, covers updates, compliance issues, awards presentations, and business presentations by company leadership.

Motivational Support: Motivational support is available from Primerica publications, company sponsored events as well as from meetings conducted by Primerica's top money earners and other leaders, and Primerica's weekly satellite TV broadcasts.

Overall Training & Support Rating: 4.5 Stars

Products/Services: Financial Services and Products: Term Life Insurance, Auto Insurance, Homeowners Insurance, Mutual Funds(Smith-Barney), second-mortgate and personal loans(Travelers/Aetna Property & Casualty Corp). Through selling Primerica products, one of the most valuable services Primerica Financial Analysts provide is educating and helping people take charge of their finances and make wise, life-changing financial investments. The lessons taught during the course of selling these products is invaluable to the financial well being of their clients. If Primerica representatives were able to reach every young person in this country, I believe that we would have a country with less debt instead of a country with the biggest personal debt in the world.

Product Quality/Effectiveness Rating: 5 Stars

Product Market Rating: 5 Stars

Business Opportunity Market Rating: 4 Stars

Compensation Plan: Review pending

Compensation Plan Rating: N/A

Overall Rating: Pending

Advantages: Solid company with strong corporate backing. Professional training and support. Strong name brand recognition.

Disadvantages: The time that it takes to get trained and licensed for Primerica products prevents the kind of fast organizational growth that has taken place with many network marketing companies. However, Primerica attracts more serious networkers and more people with professional backgrounds.

Comments: If you're looking for a network marketing program that does not involve personal sales and one that is simple and easily duplicatable, I wouldn't recommend Primerica. However, if you're looking for something that you can be proud of, where you can achieve professional recognition, then Primerica is it.

Joined Primerica in the "80s just a MLM/network marketing scam... did the works... level 1 life, investment and securities, (Mutual/Segregated funds)... what a bloody waste of time...recruit recruit recruit  was their mantra. The RVP (the elgrando bosso at Primerica) was a religious born again a$$ho*e  who beat his first wife regularly... she worked as his secretary, and came in with bruises and black eyes.... the "higher ups" were informed but looked the other way... fed up I quit...wasted a year of my life with that outfit ... POISON!!!

REPLY TO AMANDA:

actually Amanda I thought your post was great except for one thing and maybe you should talk to your upline for clarification but if you are not licensed you can not get paid...this is a highly regulated industry and there are certain restrictions that must be followed and I don't know about where ur from but most Primerica office reimburses you $100 for every 3 appts you go on, up to 6 appts, so that would be $200.00 total, but please don't take my word for it and talk to ur upline, then make sure you know exactly what ur talking about before you get into some trouble just from ignorance

Have a blessed day

PS I am a Primerica Rep and Love it!!!!

I know most of you have read all the stuff good and bad that is on here...but let me add this:

I am a realtor, which most ppl consider to be a good career, you can make a lot of money and I mean lots!! but what most ppl don't know is the amount of money it takes to get started and how long it takes to build your business because by the time you become very well known in your city or area, you have already poured out thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars on marketing yourself and what you can do for your clients.

No one mentions to you when you sign up with their brokerage that you have to pay UP FRONT from schooling, exams, licensing and so forth...but do you hear a bunch of ppl screaming scam because you have to pay up front, not ever!!!! Do you ever get told up front that you must pay for your business cards, signs, advertising and office space...NOPE!! Do you here ppl screaming scam? NO.  Are you ever told in the beginning that you must work 24/7 to truly make it in real estate and make it big...NO. The truth is that if you don't work 7 days a week and I MEAN 7 days a week you can forget about being the top dog in your city or area!  No don't get me wrong once you have made it then you can hire some assistants that you can now afford to pay part of your commission to and start relaxing, (unless they screw something up) I guess that means you would be making money off their efforts!!! UMMMM sound familiar!  but of course you could just not hire an assistant and do all the work yourself until you experience burn out!!! ummm that's definitely a possibility!

In Primerica, ppl complain because they have to work nights and weekends...let's see in real estate you must work when ppl are available, when would that be? evenings and weekends. Let's not just compare Primerica to real estate, umm let's see when do the majority of the ppl work in other industries that deal with the common man....ummm would that be evenings and weekends? I think so!  When do we go eat at a nice restuarant, that someone (whomever) owns it is making money (they sure don't have the doors open just so you can have a place to go, it's so they can make money and HOPEFULLY become rich) because you're at work waiting on common ppl hand and foot for 8 hours and what do you make...usually less than you could at some other J.O.B. (depending on the restuarant)  UMMM..wonder if that's a scam!!!

So let's compare apples to apples.....

ANY company is in business to make money!!!

ANY company hires ppl to operate the company so they can make money!!!

ANY company will ask do you know someone that is hiring, so they can make money!!!

ANY company can pay you something for "recruiting" someone for their company but they decide instead to keep it for themselves, so they can make MORE money!!!

ANY company can give you an opportunity of a lifetime, if they would just spend the time training you and teaching you, but they decide that takes too MUCH money!!!!

ANY company can do whatever they want for you, but decide that takes to much money!!!

ANY company can reward you for your hard work and  give you 2 vacations a year, where not only you get paid while you're gone but also pay for the trip, but that takes to much money!!!

So after all that is said...

Which company is really looking at for ppl, sounds to me like Primerica and CitiGroup is doing one hell of a job!!!!

Does it mean that you have to change!!!! why the hell wouldn't you want to if all this was on the line!!!

So I hope that helps these screaming idiots in here see the light!!! Just follow the light, it's ok don't be scared unless your scared of being more powerful than you can think or imagine!

I hope everyone can learn to have a great life and be responsible with the things that God has given them....OH NO I said God...Well if God doesn't exist, then all of us wouldn't be here, because I sure in the hell didn't come from some Ape, I am not coated with thick hair on my back, arms, face so I must have been made from something else...ummmm let's see in God's image and HIS likeness!!!!

Have a blessed day

BM is licensed to sell real estate and life insurance - I don't think so - unless s/he doesn't disclose such when renewing his/her licences. You can't have a life licence and a real estate licence in BC.

too freakin' bad if it didn't work for a loser like you. It's a typical "Blame it on someone" if somethin' didn't work out the way it supposed to be. That is why PFS is only for the CHAMPS, not for LOSERS.
Where else you can find a company that offers equity or ownership ONCE you have achieved the final ranking promotion. Went to inquire for Shell  and Esso gas station franchise and there is a non refundable fee of almost $200. In the end it is not sure whether your application will be entertained or not. This is just an example.
I joined PFS without spending the $199 plus for the IBA due to the 3 closed training sales (all 3 were not even my warm market; met them on a subway) we did with my upline.  The only money I spent was a gas and time attending seminars, training sessions and the dry seal of my licence.
I met PFS thru my upline in 1999 as a client of term insurance and Seg Fund. Following what I learned from being a client attending seminars on financial planning and based from  many books, we managed to pay off our debts including mortgage within 12 years.
In 2004, we had a follow-up meeting with our sales rep (my upline) and he suggested to lower the face amount of term insurance we have, further increasing our savings in the RRSP and liquid emergency funds.  Me and my spouse looked back and realized how happy we were to meet a person like him who stayed with us all the way towards achieving close to what we have projected. When we met him in 1998, he was just starting in PFS as part time and became full-time after a year, then got his 100K earner ring a year after.
After that meeting I signed-up for the IBA, didn't pay a cent for it and completed all the necessary training to go full-timer. Now I am a 44 year old happy camper, helping other people like myself take care and understand their personal finances.
People are lazy in nature and this lifestyle is not for everybody. But if you are doing some kind of sales work, you might want to consider PFS. And no, we do not call people to solicit. We meet people and get their approval for an appointment at their house. What other PFS field rep uses to meet and greet people does not reflect our organization. Each person has his/her unique way of doing things according to his/her own interpretation of what is proper.
You all can say negative stuff about PFS but none of that is gonna change things in the company. We were then, we are here now, we will be here tomorrow and none of these losers can change that.

Legit-yes, scam-yes. Sound too god to be true? Why would a large billion dollar company not want to advertise and build brand recognition? Why are there meetings where you absolutely have to bring a "recruit" with you? Why focus so heavily on recruitment and not on attracting clients? Why do the orientation meetings speak nothing of what it is the company actually does? Why do half the people in the meetings that seem like other potential recruits turn out to already work for the company, (straw recruits)? Why do the orienters avoid questions about solid hours and wages for beginners who need stable employment? Why would a financial company hire you over someone with an actual degree and experince in economics and/or business? Why do they try to blend their corporatism with new age philosophy? Take it from me, an actual criminologist who's had some experience in fraud studies, Primerica walks a fine line between legitimacy and fraud. It is in the "multi-level-marketing" business more so than the financial services business. Also, the service it eventually does sell, term life insurance policies, do not "help" working families anywhere near as well they say  - if at all in my opinion. Smam! Scam! Bloody Scam! I only hope goverment policy shifts to crack down on their bloody scam.

#60 Honest Opinion

I love how Primerica people always talk about Citigroup and how good it is.  It almost seems like it is part of the scheme to me to have a big company name involved to try to get some respect.  I received my bachelor’s degree in personal finance from a top university and landed a job with a very reputable company right out of college.  Soon after I was employed, a friend came to me who was approached by a Primerica “financial planner” and asked what I knew of the company as he was meeting with him.  I did not know anything about the company and he decided it would be a good idea if I went to this meeting with him to see what I though of their services and products as he knows I will always be honest with him.  All I can say is that Primerica is a complete joke with very high prices for all of their products.  My company was able to provide better products with costs lower 100% of the time.  In the case of my friend he ended up purchasing a life insurance policy form me for ½ the price the Primerica guy could.  One of the other things I found interesting was that the Primerica did not attend college and had no experience or knowledge of the financial field.  I know a degree is not required to be a financial planner, but would you want to receive financial advice from people quitting their jobs as mechanics, garbage men, and janitors?  I am sure some people at Primerica are good people who know their stuff, but I would just say be aware of who you deal with and compare the prices of products they offer with other companies.

#61 PFS rep

Posted 28 September 2006 - 01:40 AM

I started with PFS about a month ago and a lot that is being said on here is true. You have to watch out with who you deal with in every day life. There are some a--holes in this company that do insult you if they cannot recruit you. People have a problem with the $199.00 up front but why is it that so many people do the same thing in the real estate business but yet no one says what a scam that is. They don't make any money right away either, as it is straight commission. I am now life licenses and preparing for my securities license and like the real estate license it can all be used as a tax deduction. This may not suit everyone but I've worked in the mortgage industry for seven years and spent five of them making over 15K a month but I lived at the office for 18 hours a day doing that. This sounds like a perfect opportunity to build my own thing, and it may take me a year to do so but as long as I am not B.S.ing people around as I have seen other PFS reps doing than I should be fine. As far as there programs work I mean I don't have a whole lot of experience with Life Insurance yet but the one thing I can say about there investments is that before I got into the mtg industry and wanted to invest I couldn't but PFS gave me that opportunity 10 yrs ago and I was just used as a client and not a recruit back then. Now the mtg section I do know and let me tell you something anytime you pay off your mtg in less than the 30 yr terms that you may have gotten from a lender your are going to save money not matter if you have an 8% rate or 6% rate. Rates right now are averaging about 6.15% and I just had a loan go through with a 6.75% rate with PFS and the loan will be paid off in 16 years. There current rate was 5.75 but they still owed 28 years on the loan. We knocked off 12 years worth of payments. It doesn't take a genious to figure out this math only common sense. Now you are not stupid or a moron if you don't join PFS but don't knock the products. You might have a problem with our term policies but our loans are fantastic and over all better off for the consumer. I want these people to pay off there mtg and why not? I don't have one and I live in So Cal. Investment wise hey you won't be rich tomorrow but at least come retirement time you can enjoy a little bit of life. To all of the other PFS reps who get on these sites and berate people, choose your words wisely as you are only making PFS look bad and stay true to the correct recruiting practices, and I'll see you in Cancun!

Sincerely
PFs rep

a bunch of babies, i allways like to say for the men. 100% of have a penus but only 5% have the balls to use it. to take on an oppurtunity like this mean you must over come your fears of approaching people. Good old objective logic will tell you that the returns people are getting on the monies invested in pmerica is HUGE. If you have no balls don't try it. don't wine. Where you are working presently is probebly where your fears will keep you. before you complain anymore, please tell us why you saw the oppurtunity as good untill you realized you had no balls.

Its interesting to read the posts from those who are involved in Primerica ( or any mlm).  In my opinion they all seem to be conditioned and pretty scripted as to what to say to those who doubt their "business".  Mostly what I've read from them is alot of "well its done this or that for me and I've just paid off what was to be a 25 year mortgage in 2 years" etc...  I've also noticed that they have a propensity for insulting people who do not believe in mlm or their business.  Great selling ploy!!! Insult your potential customers.  That keeps us coming back.  I fully understand how mlm works.  I got wrapped up in it about 8 years ago.  It was at a time where my husband and I were struggling financially and all our upline wanted us to do was keep ordering product, keep order your product every month.  Gee I wonder why???  Every month we were putting out $200 a month just so he could keep his paycheck going yet here we were struggling to make ends meet.  Well we gave it up after awhile it was such a joke.  We were putting in countless hours per week for nearly a year and what did it yield us.  Oh yeah  really really good checks. I think the checks coming to us were $11.00 CAD.  In my opinion it seems to me that Primerica trains they're people like a cult trains they're followers.

As far as Primerica goes, I personally am not interested in working for them, as the MLM style of recruiting is not something I enjoy, and it's true many people do not make money.  However, I do believe in their products, and I do believe term insurance, and not whole life, is the way to go.  So, long story short, buy their products, but don't work for them...

Primerica Rocks get a grip firstly I nor anyone else here are losers because we say what we feel.  Secondly I make over $130,000 per year have no credit card debt and own (not finance or lease) both of my vehicles.  Primerica is a scam, thats all.

It's an MLM with limited product.  You have the golden handcuffs if you become a Primerican!

Only term life, limited mediocre mutual funds.  No EH/Dental, no group insurance, no permanent insurance, no seg funds, no...... need we go on?

The informed public knows to use the services of independent advisors.  The informed advisor knows to be independent.
