Ofcourse they have to sell Primerica. Any insurance company who sells only Term insurance is bound to go bankcrupt! When insurance was invented they started selling Term like the one Primerica sells today. After 180 years the industry went bankcrupt and that is why whole life insurance was developed.

What was the cash value your cousin would've received (thus been able to invest) by cashing in all those permanent policies? Would that cash value, invested in a MF earning 8-10%, have been earning more for your cousin than the payments for similar coverage with term insurance would've been? Something to think about.

The interest rates baffled me, too. Sometimes I disagree with what the company does with SMART loans, other times the increased application of payment to principal rather than to interest does make the EFFECTIVE rate end up being lower than the bank/LOC's ... no matter what the nominal rate would suggest.

People getting in and not getting licensed is on them. They're told about the licensing process before they sign an IBA ... I worry about that with anybody I speak to about the business. It's tough. for some, and that's a shame ... most that join and don't get licensed are just lazy quitters, though.
