Add Reply The school vacations in Surrey need to be drastically updated. The 10 weeks summer vacation is far too long . I feel the summer vacation should be reduced to 6 weeks . The xtra 4 weeks should be split in 2 . There should be a 2 week Easter break . The other 2 weeks should be added onto the Xmas/New Year break . The weather is pretty bad around that time and it would make sense .
Whats your views on school vacations etc .

Or they could do it like it is in england.... with a series of breaks throughout the year instead of one huge summer break. Right now I believe they have 12 weeks... 10 weeks in summer, 1 week in spring and 1 week in winter. It should be a 3 week vacation every 4 months instead.

There does need to be some changes made to the school calendar . What do u parents think ?

some schools here in Mpl. Ridge opted for a three month on one month off approach that seemed ideal. Jan, Feb & Mar your in school, April is a month off.... May, June & July you're in school, and Aug off... Sept Oct & Nov in & Dec off.... many many parents liked it. And teachers loved it as holidays are cheap in April.

Summer break should be shortened to extend Xmas break. But what do I care highschool was eons ago. How many of you are little highschool kids.

Glasgogirl , thats a great system for everyone but i would still prefer the kids to have a longer xmas/new year break.

I think they need to cut back on the pro D days...there always seems to be one going on.

We, students, should only attend school one month of the year. Every other month should be a vacation.
