hey people, can we just get back to the business (the original topic) ??

the most i learned was a back & forth conversation between a couple of "racists" or whoever ... (i don't care)

but i do care about your suggestions and detailed info about thailand: how to get there, where to stay, etc :) :)
big thanks!

pick a base point where you would like to stay and travel around the area on day trips. since thailand is a relatively small country you can get almost anywhere by bus..people chase you to get you on their taxis and buses and take you to nice hotels and such...tons of stuff to do..shoot firearms, water sports, sun bathe, shop, eat, go on tours, drink your face off

Start from Bangkok. You can buy cheap airfares to other locations. Avoid tuk tuk cabs, they WILL scam you. Check out an island off phuket called phi phi ( pronounced pi pi ), heaven on earth but pricy by thai standards. Avoid pretty girls because, well ... they are not girls. I went their with my wife and we had a terrific time. Shopping is very good in bangkok. Get a massage.

hi, thanks for your tips. (and i am not into any girls, i am going with my hubby :)

i am not really into the shopping; i like to lay on the beach!!!, relax, explore the islands, get massages, YES!

but once i get to bangkok, should i buy the air ticket to phi-phi, or whatever, at the bangkok airport or should i arrange everything here, before i go ?

Phi Phi island will blow your mind away. You have to get to phuket first. stay there for couple of nights and get a ferry to phi phi. you can fly private there for a few hundred dollars. Unlike other locations in thailand, book your phi phi resort before going. Once there, ask for a romantic setting dinner for two. They will set your table at the beach by the water away from others with fire lanterns and your own private cook and waiter. cost about $200. usd. My wife ask me every now and then when are we going back to phi phi. Oh, by the way, the banglows or rooms at phi phi have NO tvs. Take some nice music with you. they have sound system though.
