One former law school classmate was up on corruption charges and when he beat the charges the press was waiting outside to interview him. All he would say into each microphone that was shoves in his face was " I have been reading this book [ holding up The Tartan Dragon ] ,it's a great book, I thoroughly recommend it " John Mclean researched the many characters personalities that stood out during the hong Kong's history 1841 to 1997 .It takes you from the beginnings when the first British settled in Hong Kong,it takes you through the Japanese invasion etc.. and it's a fun read. I too thoroughly recommend it.

Good. I hope you bought the used book for $1. Maybe you can be the first to review this very unpopular book on Amazon.com. It sure gets a LOW rating on Amazon as opposed to what liar Chris Pattonofcrap stating that it was a top ten book.

Thanks for letting us know. I`ll definitely purchase a used one. To think I was going to pay 7 pounds(about 15$) for a paperback copy. It`s out of the library where I live, so I`ll have to buy one.

I didn't know that Hong Kong had such an interesting history. I soppose that nobody would have been interested in the Titanic if the [fiction ] movie never came out. I never actually knew hadly any of my own history until now. I can see now why this book was on the Hong Kong best sellers list.

Yeah right, a self published fictional book making the top ten list in Hong Kong. Chris Patton really knows how to LIE from the master LIAR Doc Watson.

it is a self published book and it did make it on the Hong Kong best sellers list before handover. Why don't you lick up a copy yourself ? I am interested in hearing your review. There is alot of CHinese history ,Hong Kong history,Japanese HK invasion history original opium drug barons [ scoundrels ! ] history, the personalities researched. This book takes the reader through Hong Kong's history from 1840 to 1997. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I believe that you will too.

If you check out the biggest on-line bookseller in Hong Kong.
http://www.shopinhk.com
They don't even carry that book Tartan Dragon. Yeah right, that this book was a top seller in Hong Kong.
Again Chris Patton is showing his true colors of being a LIAR like the master LIAR, Doc Watson.

Really? Which one? Can you provide a link to show us. Just what exactly is a Hong Kong top ten best sellers list? They must keep records the way the NY Times and other perstigious reviewers offer.
This is basically me saying I don't believe you.

Absolutely not. If a self-published novel ever made it to a top ten anything it would be snatched up by a publisher in a second.
The number of best selling self-published books are less than the fingers on my hand.

I'll tell you what. I won't read this book for several reasons.
1. Self-publishing books are bad 99% of the time. They are unedited, contain false information, grammatical errors, and spelling mistakes. Why should I waste my time on something that isn't good enough to get picked up by a real publisher.
2. It doesn't sound very interesting.
3. The fact that you straight out lied about this book shows that it's not very good. And I trust your judgment about as much as I trust a three dollar bill.
4. This book is so unpopular it doesn't even have an amazon ranking on the ca website. The UK site has it marked in the 2 million rank. The US site is 6 million. This means that the book has likely sold one copy in the past two years.

I enjoyed it and I am not lying that I liked it. I also am not a liar. If you don't want to read it then don't read it. I don't trust your judgement at all. I am sure that you aren't interested in Hong Kong history or chinese history. I am also sure that you are a royal bore.If you havn't read this book then really you don't have anything to say about it.The fact that you are making such a big negative deal about this book without even having read it really exposes how stupid you really are

You don't lie? So you're going to show me the top ten list where this book was a best seller? Come on! I'm still waiting.
Unlike you, I know a lot about publishing. It's my field.
I'm making a negative about this book because of the lies you've told to try and get people to read it. There is a possibility that this book might be the one in a million that is actually a decent self pub. But I doubt it.

Read it yourself then. Contact the Author John Mclean. He can tell you more than I can. You are a publisher ? I am very interested in publishing a book. Not a novel or anything to do with my experiences.

Not all books have wide readerships. That's what small presses are for. There's always the option to self-pub too. I know I criticize it but it's good for niche markets. Check out www.lulu.com If you ever decide to go that route, they are the only decent ones to use. They don't steal money from their authors.
