I'm in Korea right now, but I'm going back to Vancouver in a couple of months.  I'm using the Samsung SCH - B500 right and I want to take it back to Canada with me.  Anyone know if this particular model can be unlocked? And if so, where can I go to unlock it? I'm pretty sure it can be, but someone posted on here that any Samsung phone purchased after July '06 can't be unlocked.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hey does anybody know where to get unlock codes for canadian telephones. I have found some american sites but they all require the IMEI number. My phone doesn't have one of those so the codes don't work to unlock. I am trying to unlock my white chocolate from Telus to connect to Sasktel. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE SUPER. You can e-mail me.....snugx_cgy@hotmail.com

Thanks

By the way for those of you who think you need an unlock code to unlock the phone the cell company gives you a code that becomes invalid after use and only gives you acess to certain things, in most cases they will do automatic programming to program the phone in which case you will NOT be given a number to unlock the phone plus you might as well just ask for unlock code your just as likely to get it that way as you are trying back door tactics, plus unless your exporting the device its completely useless to even unlock the phone, as was mentioned earlier bell and telus will not allow the transfer of phones to their networks that have not been regestered in their system, i would imagine virgin is the same.

Im currently on a bell plan, and cant get out of it for another year. I recently broke my phone and was looking for a new one when i found the nokia 5300,but of course bell dosnt offer it and rogers does. I was wondering if it was possible to unlock the rogers phone to work on the bell network, i have no idea since rogers uses sim cards and bell does not. Ive bought an unlocked phone from ebay before and had no problem. Any help would be great.

You can get different programs for you phone to use mp3's as ringtones.  Diego works for Nokia, and it is really easy to use.  You do lose your warranty by using it, but if you do it right, your phone will be fine.

I use Diego and have changed all the normal settings that Telus comes with.

Was wondering, you mentioned that you work for Telus. My phone was just stolen (along with my purse)....Motorola KRZR...can it be reactivated or re-programmed? I have told Telus it's stolen and they cancelled any service to it. What can people do with the information on it? What are the chances someone will find it? Oh why do people do this!!!

If you report it to Telus as stolen, they can ban the ESN and prevent reactivation. However, they can reprogram it for a different network. Most likely they don't care about your information and will erase everything. Unless you are Paris Hilton or Britney Spears.

They can only block it from Bell or Telus, but not nationally. If you're on Fido or Rogers, so sad too bad. Your ESN is not blocked.
