I unlocked my nokia (T-Mobile) using a free software program that generates possible unlock codes. Mine unlocked on the first go.
Good luck!

"Moron....most cells nowadays need to be unlocked in person using a technician's cable and appropriate hardware. Gone are the days when you can unlock a cell remotely by unlock code."
Right,,, an idiot who pretends like he knows it all when actually knowing nothing...
You cannot unlock ANY of the new Blackberry phones with a hacking hardware box and cable. The best, safest and only way is by remote code.

You can use any carriers SIM card - great when travelling or if you move, no need to buy a new phone
You phone's value has increased - it can now be sold to anyone on the GSM network, not just to other Rogers or Fido customers
I obtained the unlock code for my Samsung A436 on E-bay. I'm sure if I looked hard enough, I could have found this on my own, but it wasn't that expensive, and was e-mailed to me. I have to use another carriers SIM card though to get an "ERROR' message on my phone in order to unlock it. I have a spare unactivated Rogers SIM card, I'll try that first, and if that doesn't work, I'll be in another country in a couple of months and just use someone's SIM card then to unlock this phone.

For instance, if you travel to another country and need to use the prepaid card over there, YOU CAN!

Check out www.BargainCellular.ca
Fast, reliable and cheap.
Unlocked my Blackberry 8310 from rogers for me and a Nokia 6300 from Fido which no one else was able to unlock.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
