A recently retired gentleman is totally bored with nothing to do, and so he applies for a job as a Greeter at a nearby Wal-Mart on a part-time basis. This will get him out of the house, to both his and his wife's relief, but will allow outside time to do other things.
He is accepted for the job. After three months, he has his first performance review.
"You are a great employee," says the reviewer. "You are courteous and polite, are immaculately groomed and attired, and you quickly learned where everything is."
"Well, thank you," says the employee.
"There is one small problem," states the reviewer. "You often tend to come in a bit late, although you do stay to make it up."
"Yes, I know," indicates the employee. "Towards the end of my career I did allow myself that luxury, and I guess it has extended into this new part-time job."
"Well," says the manager, "What did they say at the office when you came in late like that"?
He responds, "They said, 'Good morning, General.' "
