Vancouver Forum: Why do our doctors and nurses get vaccinated so much later?

I've talked to several nurses and doctors and none of them are allowed to get their H1N1 flu shot till the next majority of it is available which will be atleast another month. What the hell is wrong with this picture? If they get sick from H1N1 and can't work (obviously) who is going to look after the ill? Shouldn't they have been vaccinated with the elderly, babies, chronically ill? I could see the worry in their faces and I felt so bad for them. They work their asses off to help people and make them better, take care of them while they have the flu or H1N1 and they can't have any protection from H1N1 till god knows when? I don't work in the medical field but if I did I would be plenty worried since that might be the number 1 place the H1N1 would be more susceptible.
