I did it years ago.

It is tough if you really like your food...but I liked it and did feel better after and it was a good jump start to cut things out of my diet and focus on healthier eating.

I just heard about this product from a friend.  She say's she does it 2x a year and loves it and that it really works.  I'm thinking about trying it myself.  Can you tell me how it went for you?

I did this about a year and a half ago with my roommate. Really helped doing it with someone, to help keep you motivated. You need to time it right so that you're not attending weddings, Thanksgiving, or other huge food events where it would be impossible to stick to the dietary requirements of the detox.

It revolutionized my roommate's lifestyle and dietary choices forever. She discovered she was indeed allergic to yeast and described the experience as if "waking from a dream". She doesn't have dandruff, yeast infections, or bad gas anymore because she continues to follow the dietary restrictions (mostly).

Me, I don't feel I got much benefit from it. I was a bit weirded out by the food requirements, which seemed to me to be very wheat allergy-centric, rather than focused on healthy eating.

I think you can get all the benefits of this detox program from just following the strict dietary requirements and not paying money for the detox pills.

I have not done that cleanse, but have done the Master Cleanser about a dozen times. It has worked well for me, but is very extreme compared to most health food stores cleanses. I too have wicked cravings while on cleanses, mostly for KFC and cola. One cleanse I would stay away from is the Sambu Eldeberry Cleanse. It messed me up for months (bowels in a knot).

With respect to the Wild Rose Cleanse
The author "I'm hoping" mentioned that one could probably cleanse without the herbal supplements. It should be noted that the POINT of the herbs is to help the body in releasing the toxins (the same way Mr. Clean helps to clean a kitchen...without it, you could be in there all day). This is not an extreme cleanse (such as the Master Cleanse - where you eat nothing for a few days), therefore the help of herbs along with a healthy diet make it an easy and wonderful cleanse.

Further, refined flour products are not allowed for scientific reasons (not wheat allergy-centric ones). When gluten (from the flour) mixes with water, it forms a glue like substance which will clings to the wall of the intestines after being digested. The idea of a cleanse is just that, the "flush" out the body. Avoiding certain foods will only enhance the effect of the d-tox.
Lastly, after avoiding sugars, dairy and flour/yeast products, many people lose significant amounts of weight, stabilize individual blood sugar levels, minimize bloating (from carb/sugar overdose) and overall increase quality of health due to the flush of toxins from the body (in particular, the liver and colon/intestines).

Apparently, all detoxes products are more than they're touted to be:

Hey I'm hoping, did you ever check into who funded those "scientific research projects"?  Truth is that they probably haven't done any research at all!  That is why they say there is no scientific evidence to support the notion of de-tox programs being effective.  I ask the question then, is there any support that says otherwise? Until the scientific community (mostly medical and pharmaceutical companies) changes their paradigm of thinking and researches these programs from an unbiased point of view (which will never happen), there will be no support of these natural detox plans.  Funnily enough, most of the scientific community puches ineffective pharmeceutical products onto the sick population just to put $$ in their pockets rather than to come up with real solutions to the problems.  Drugs are at most 20-30% effective in reducing symptoms that a person may be experiencing, but do little if anything to treat the actual CAUSE of the problem.
I for one would much rather stick with natural solutions and continue to maintain my health in a pro-active way rather than having to end up using those dangerous and often ineffective drugs that really is just about big business rather than promoting better health for the world.
Wake up I'm hoping!

I did the 12 day detox in January.  It was really quite easy for me as I eat fairly healthy anyway. I eat a lot of rice anyway, so I substitued brown rice for white.  If you like fish, which I do, t's great because you can eat a lot of it.  The first few days are the toughest as your body adjusts to not having the things you love the most.  I found taking the drops in a bit of V-8 juice helped.  By the end of the 12 days I felt great and I lost 10 pounds.  I plan to do a 7 day detox. at the end of June.

I did the cleanse twice. Yes I did lose weight both times, from 5 to 10 lbs, but you usually put it back as soon as you go back to regular eating habit (and I am not eating junk food). I think your body is in starvation mood and as soon as you start eating a bit more he keeps everything in storage.

Twice I got really sick mid-cleanse, severe nausea, that had me running to the washrrom and laying on the floor in bad cramps. I actually stopped the cleanse the second time after a week, not because of the food restrictions (not too hard for me) but because of the intense discomfort.

Why would I want to make myself so sick? I can eat healty by myself and eating plenty of fiber will cleanse my bowels enough. SO NO MORE WILD ROSE FOR ME

Hi, I'm doing the Wild Rose Detox Cleanse. I'm in my 3th day and I'm doing quite well, just feeling a little weak. The thing I worry about it is that I haven't got any diarrhea and I heard everybody starts going to the bathroom more often on the second day. I have take the pills as directed and keep on track with the diet, maybe I could drink more water. Anybody has experienced the same?. Any suggestions?.

Wild Rose worked for me. I lost about 10 lbs and felt much more energized afterwards. I hated doing the detaox while I was on it and swore I would never do it again. I overheard a guy in a bar one night say..."friends don't let friends detox," I laughed so hard because it was aweful being on a strict diet and taking the vitiamins (horse pills) and drinking the herbal drops made me want to puke. By the end I had such a hard time choking the supplements down. ANYWAY, it did work although I hated it....but a year later and I'm going to do it again this month after my work schedule calms down. It made me really tied so it is best to start on days off.

I've done a cleanse where for about 5-6 days, you do the following....

When you first get up, drink 1 tall glass of prune juice, then 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Then, every half an hour, alternatve between half a glass of water, then organic cranberry juice or apple cider juice. Have one more tablespoon of olive oil after 3 glasses of each (6 hours).

This is one of the best ones out there and I've lost a lot of weight. You will never feel hungry because you're filled with liquid and you will feel energized. There is fasting for several days, but it's very hard to do.......

I am on day five of the Wild Rose Herbal D-Tox.  Everything is going well so far, I'm not experiencing any major cramping, nor am I constantly having to go to the bathroom.  I find that there is a lot of variety on the recommended food lists to keep me satisfied. I've been eating the Silver Hills Squirrelly bread, which contains no flour.  Does anyone know if this is allowed or not?  Also, I purchased the Wild Rose Herbal D-Tox Cookbook for Cleansing at Alive Health Food Store in New West for $13.99.  The recipes look very tasy and easy to prepare.

Folks,

Has anyone ever had large amounts of goop coming out of their eyes from doing a cleanse? I am on Day 3 of wild rose and can feel the benefits already. But just a few hours ago goop has been coming out of my eyes like crazy and the vision has become a bit hazy. Note: I have also overused contact lenses for many years.

Thanks.

Mike

I have done the wild rose 3 times and am about to do it again this week. The biggest problem for me is finding the perfect time to do it. No parties, no booze, no nothing. So I find it hard to do in the summer.  The food on the list is very limitied I find,as Im not much of a cooker. However, If you google wild rose you will get a huge list of  recipes. These help me out alot!!! If you can get a few meals you actually like out of them your doing really well. Stick to it, you will feel great when its all over

To Mike: my friend had goop come out of his eyes when he started his cleanse too.

This is my second time on the Wild Rose, I'm on day 8.  This time has been way easier than the first as I purchased the cook book.  It gives you ideas when you are bored with your own creations.  Both times I've lost weight, the first time about 11 pounds.

Hint for sweet cravings or hunger twangs.

1. 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 cup frozenblack berries or  raspberries put in bowl and microwave on high for 2 minutes.

Option 1.  Top Rice dream vanilla ice cream only one healthy scoop with some of the hot berries! Chill the rest for option 2  (Rice Dream has no sweeteners and should only be used for a treat)

Option 2. Mix and slightly mash berries with a fork and then put in fridge to cool over night.

Then top one Brown rice/barley unsalted cracker topped with almond butter (I like crunchy) with your chilled berrie jam!

Option 2 is great for a snack when you have cravings between meals or for a fast breakfast.

For those daring enough another cleanse I've had great results with is the Dr Hulda Clarcks Liver/ Gall bladder flush.  Google it.

I have just finished the Wild Rose Detox Diet and  feel great.  I did not have any cravings and since I was a chocaholic, I thought it would be tough to stick with the eating regiment.  I always found I was full by eating the food on the most recommended list and if I felt hungry in between our "normal" eating times, I would have an apple or some almonds.  When I ate a reasonal amount of salmon and good amounts of other allowed foods, I really felt satisfied.

I only lost six pounds in total over the 12 days and have only gained 2 of those back since I have added flour, dairy and sugar back into my daily intake.  What I think the diet did for me was to make me more aware of what I eat and how many foods have sugar or glucose/fructose in them. As well I think more about what I am about to eat with the goal to rank food from one to ten and if the food is not a seven or better, I will not eat it.

I hope I will be able to eat most of my food in its most natural state.

why would anyone go through a cleanse then revert back to the foods that contributed to the need for bowel cleanse i.e., flour, dairy, sugar?  flour ok if its whole wheat (ref. to GI diet); dairy if its live culture yogurt and skim milk; sugar - yikes, surely there is an alternative like sugar cane, maple syrup, pineapple and last but not least Splenda?

I'm in day 8 of the detox, not enjoying the process at all, although no really rough symptoms, some nausea, tired.  I'm vegetarian and find the diet very boring, how many times a day does one want to eat brown rice, millet, buckwheat.  Is it easier for meat/fish eaters?  Almond butter and organic strawberries are getting me through but I never thought a pickle would look so good!  (with a strong cup of black tea).

Anybody have ideas for breakfast?  I've just started the Wild Rose cleanse and I'm a bit stumped.  I normally have oatmeal & flax seeds with rice & or hemp protein for breakfast, but all those fall into the "20%" category.  Any suggestions for a breakie with the recommended balance would be helpful.

For those interested in the Master Cleanse. Google the name, and you should be able to find the complete book online free.I bookmarked it, then bought it at the 'Alive'store in New West, which was mentioned earlier. There wasn't any more in the book I bought than was printed in the webpage I bookmarked. Save yourself some money if you're interested in this one. I'm sure you could do the same with this Wild Rose cookbook, or close to it.
I never went the whole distance with the Master Cleanse.Too extreme for me.I just do it on the weekends now and then.I may try this Wild Rose one though.
