Just starting the d-tox today. I think this is my 4th time doing it, so I've got the hang of it at this stage, but the first few times were difficult. The first time around I didn't make it all the way through, so don't feel like you have to suffer through it if you are extremely sick - it might be an indication that you have plenty to cleanse, so it might take more than one go.

I find at this stage my reactions to the cleanse are less severe than the 1st or 2nd time I did it. I try to cleanse twice a year now. I like the Wild Rose because there is plenty of variety in what you can eat, and it's a good excuse for me to try different recipies. This morning I cooked onions, spinach and tomatoes in mustard seeds, with chili powder and eggs - yum! Potatoes and bacon too, with a berry smoothie - your diet doesn't have to be boring.

As a general rule, anything pre-packaged almost always has sugar, flour or vinegar in it. Buy lots of veggies and spend time preparing dishes in advance. Pre-chop veggies and stick them in tupperware, make humous (easy and delicous), hard boil some eggs, and make a massive pot of brown rice so that you're loaded with quick snacks. Other great snacks - celery and almond butter, smoked salmon (make sure it's not smoked with sugar), and fruit fruit fruit.

Good luck everyone! You've made a decision to be conscious of what enters your body, so that alone is a success.

Holy crap!

Do you guyz remember the Saturday Night Live skit - Colon Blow?  This is Day 8 and that's exactly how I feel today.  I'm glad my meeting at work was cancelled today, I need to be close to the throne.  Haven't experienced anything like THIS yet.  Y'gads.

Thanks everyone !  I'm done.  I will do it again.  Great program to loose those holiday lbs.

I'll go easier on the almonds next time and hopefully the flu bug doesn't hit me at the same time again!

I'm out!

What are you guyz going to do after the detox is over?  I think I'm going to try to cut out sugar as much as I can and go easy on the flour.  I really miss my bananas and oranges, so I'll probably go back to eating them, and maybe pick up a multi vitamin.

I am on day 5 of the cleanse and I feel fine no headache, no nausea, no hunger. I am drinking tons of water and eating off the list. I had some #2 trips to the bathroom on day 2 & 3 but none since? Is this normal or should I be in there lots? Also a question to the women I have what looks like a yeast infection that turned up around day 3 is this one of the symptoms that any of you experienced? Should I go to the doctor or treat it or what? I should tell you all this is my first detox so I'm kinda clueless! Also I have lost 9 lbs since I started so that was a bonus!
Thank you.

9 pounds in 5 days?! That's a bit scary, isn't it?

Just finishing day 2 on this my first cleanse. Very strong symptoms today (diarrhea and nausea, lethargy) and yesterday (tired and very headachy by evening). I hope these are strong because I want to get into a regular life/work rhythm tomorrow!

I am definitely feeling better tonight after a dinner with salmon, rice and salad. I think that staying hydrated is really important to stave off the headache's and dizziness.

I heard that some nuts are NOT recommended. Any insights on whether hazelnuts, pinenuts and cashews are ok?

Thanks, BTW, to all the posters who have shared their stories. It helps go into this with confidence.

I did this detox a couple of years ago and the thing I noticed was that I actually got constipated off of it, according to my doctor it was because I was used to eating a high-fibre diet like apples and whole wheat bread. So whether you end up visiting the toilet a lot or not might depend on what type of diet your body is used to.

I am on my last day of the cleanse. I feel amazing, I have lost about 10 pounds. I found the diet difficult, only because I live with my family and they all weren't very supportive, aside from nagging me, they ate all sorts of crap around me. But i didn't cave. Drinking the CL drops were probably the worst part for me. But if you plug your nose and keep it plugged for a minute or two afterwards, you don't even taste it!

First few days, went to the bathroom at least 10 times. Did you know that you are supposed to have 3 or 4 bowel movements a day or else you are constipated. The foods we eat unless organic are so full of chemicals that people are so used to going to the bathroom maybe once a day.

For those who said to put Splenda in your food, DONT. Splenda is a chemical sweetener, any chemical sweetener is not good for you. Science is not better than nature. When you finish witht he herbal rose, i recommend organic cane sugar or honey to sweeten things.

About a month before the Wild Rose cleanse, i decided to eat only organic. I still had organic chips, organic chocolate, and even one kind of organic candy. I lost 3 pounds, i never get gassy, or bloated anymore. You get more from your food too, so you dont have to eat as much. For those who love dairy.. it is only bad for you because it is pasteurized and homogenized... and fattening for some. Goat milk is better for you than cow milk. I'm tempted to buy my own cow so that i can have raw organic milk... because i love dairy so much, but that's never going to happen.

Good luck to all on the cleanse! I highly recommend it!

This forum has been amazing! I'm going to go on the Wild Rose detox but i'm really apprehensive.  I guess the main thing is the diet.  It just seems really restricting.  Plus everyone in my household eats out so that makes it really hard to control what goes into the foods.  I hear the cookbook really helps.  Where can I pick this up?
The other thing is the lack of energy.  I am a gym rat and I exercise everyday.  I don't think I can give that up but it sounds like everyone is just dead tired when they go on this cleanse.  Can anyone give me some feedback on what that is like? Thanks everyone and thanks for sharing your stories!  I don't think I would even consider going on this thing if I didn't read all your experiences!

I'm on Day 5 of the detox and other than a headache in the evening the first three days have felt fine.  Still doing yoga and pilates.  I find the pills and drops make me gag, but have frozen berries that I pop in my mouth right after taking the pills to get a refreshing taste in my mouth.  It works. Already I've lost 7 pounds but it must be water.

Hey, I'm on day 6 and feeling horrid, I had expected to be feeling better by now. I have been trying very hard to keep away from the foods not recommended, but its really hard. Especially when everyone else in the house can carry on as normal. Someone mentioned a website with a recipe book, could someone post the link? Pretty please.

hi does anyone know if you can have ryvita crisp bread on the wild rose herbal detox? The ingrerdients are whole grain rye flour and salt.
Thanks! I'm hungry!

Mik:  I don't think you can have the rye crisp cuz you're suppose to stay away from all types of flour regardless if it's whole wheat or not.  I've been eating organic brown rice cakes since they're made from brown rice itself.

I'm no day 2 of the cleanse and i don't feel a thing. i'm not even going to the bathroom more...is there something wrong?

Wow!  Reading about everyone's experiences with Wild Rose on this forum has been really helpful.  I am on day 9 of the cleanse and am REALLY wanting to cave and eat some chocolate but it's only 3 more days so I'm sure I'll make it.
I'm really shocked by the extreme sugar cravings I've been having- I didn't really consider myself to be a sweets person but I've been craving sugar like crazy.
I've found the Wild Rose cookbook to be really good and I would recommend buying it- it makes the cleanse a lot easier and saves you searching for suitable recipes to use.
I've also found rice crackers and guacamole (homemade) to be a really satisfying thing to eat.  It feels like you're eating junk food but you're eating something healthy.  I didn't eat almond butter before but it's awesome and really good on apple slices.
I felt really out of it on the first couple days of the clease but luckily this passed.  I have been really tired the entire time though and have not been able to work out or run as much as usual.  This might be why I haven't lost as much weight as others seem to have- I've maybe lost three pounds.

I finished the Detox early in February (4th time) and now I'm on day 10 of the Wild Rose Cand-Aid cleanse.  It definitely gets easier with each subsequent cleanse.  I workout 5 days a week and I find it very difficult to get the motivation to get out there while cleansing.  My naturopath says I'm getting enough carbs and that my body just needs to adjust to the new levels.  I'm hopefully optimistic.  She also wants me to follow the Cand-Aid cleanse for 15 days on and 15 days off for a year.  I can add a bit of grapefruit and yogurt on the off days but basically following the clease diet plan.  With two young kids and a husband who is less than supportive, I'm not sure I'll be able to pull it off.

Here are some foods that are helpful during the D Tox:
hummus (from health store with no additives)
tabouli
popcorn
butter
eggs (especially in the morning)
sashimi
tofu (for stir frys)
almonds and almond butter
sesame oil for stir frys
potatos
canned soup from health store (Amy's brand has many good for the D Tox)
curry
berries

I'm on day 9 of the cleanse. Here is my run down. Just so you know, I"m very irregular in bowel movements normally. I usually go once a week, and that is why I did the cleanse.

Day1: no change, no poop
Day2: Went 5 times, very very runny, extreme abdominal pain, and cramping (felt like a very bad period)
Day 3: same as day 2, horrible
Day4: decreased dose of laxiherb to half, and feeling much better, runny poops getting harder
day5: Awesome day!!! went poop twice and weren't super runny anymore. Lots of energy tday
day 6,7,8- good days, no abdominal pain anymore, poops regular after every meal. Usually 2-3 hours after eating
day9- poops became runny again, but regular after eating. not painfu. Total weight lost 12pounds!!! And I'm not fat to begin with, it's all stuff that's been sitting in my tummy for years and years.

Overall cleanse was pretty easy as I was doing with 3 people, and we all took turns cooking dinners. Tip: Always make enough dinner for left overs for lunch the next day.

ideas for eating: breakfast oatmeal, soymilk, and blueberries or rasberries..... got old real fast and just started eating fruit for breaky

lunch: left overs from dinner

dinner: curry, curry curry dishes with chicken or tofu with veggies and rice, like a stir fry.
taco salad: make beef with lots of spices on lettuce and tomatoes onions and cilantro with lemon juice. fish- salmon with butter garlic and lemon juice in tin foil in the oven with veggies and rice or couscous.

I was pretty much eating all day: carrots and hummus, and veggies, apples and strawberries and lots of water to fill up

Lastly I had popcorn everynight to fill up if hungry.

hope this helps someone, remember if hungry eat veggies until full! it will curb cravings. If I can do this anyone can!!!

I put almond butter on rice cakes.  I found a brand in the kosher section of Safeway that is brown rice and buckwheat.  Spread it with the almond butter and then top with a spoonful of unsweetend apple sauce.  That with a cup of tea and all of my cravings are gone.

My wife and I just finished the 9 day cleanse. We have lost 9 pounds each. In that short time I am sleeping way better (once a nite waking versus 2-3), my mind is clearer, more energy and no more fricken heartburn.. Its not an easiy thing to drop what u normally eat but it got easier and now its almost routine. Oh yeah my crap food cravings are virtually gone. we have joined the Isagenix team and now trying to convince people to give it a try.

My husband, myself and our 17 year old daughter all did this cleanse and we thought it was wonderful.  None of us are extremely overweight, but need to lose a few pounds, our daughter needing to lose the least.  We all lost weight with myself and my husband losing 9 and 8 pounds perspectively and our daughter losing 4 pounds.  My husband and myself lost a total of 9 inches over our bodies and we really didn't feel starved on this cleanse.  If you can get through the first three days without cheating, you can do the full twelve with no problems.  It makes you extremely aware of the junk we all consume in our everyday lives.
Good luck

This is my second time doing the Wild Rose 12-day d-tox. The first time was really tough. I became quite sick and was hungry. Until a couple of days in when I realized that there was a lot more to eat than I had thought. I had been starving myself. I highly recommend going through the foods you're allowed and preparing somewhat of a meal plan. At the very least, get some ideas down so you don't starve.

This time around is much easier, although I'm still running low on energy. For the first time in a long time, I skipped the workout this morning. I just couldn't drag myself out of bed. Sleep is very important and I don't think I got enough.

The only other negative is achy muscles. This time around the discomfort went away by day 4. The first time though, I had such severe back pain that I was up for an entire night bawling my eyes out. I have no idea what might of caused it, and I'm hoping it doesn't happen again because I'm only on day 5.

The benefits far outweigh the negatives. I've lost 7lbs in 5 days, clothes are fitting better, and instead of "highs and lows" all day, my energy level and mood has been pretty stable, (minus missing one workout).

I highly recommend the Wild Rose cleanse. Not only does it benefit physically, but mentally as well. Also, you really start to take notice of what you're putting into your body. There is a lot of products that seem healthy, but our full of salt and sugar!

Good luck to all you first-timers!! Hang in there!

Hey all, good to read that I'm not the only one that has suffered with the lack of energy. I'm on day five and have gotten back my energy now, I'm starting to feel like myself again. As for the potty, I've always been very regular and this just made me a little more so. This is my first so my expectations were quite high. A good friend of mine has just completed hers and I think I'm feeling better than she is. I haven't lost an ounce and it actually feels like I may be putting on weight (not what I was hoping for). My first couple of days were by far the worst. Headache that lasted for two days straight and a feeling of nausia from when I got up to till I had dinner. I was lucky I was able to borrow my friends cookbook but I think if you Google "Wild Rose Herbal D-Tox" you will find links to where the cook book is.

I will make it and I really hope everyone else does to.

Cheers

I did the cleanse.  Loved going to the crapper-laughed every single time.
The weirdest thing I noticed during and after the cleanse was pimples in strange places.  And they took forever to go away

Well, I did it - I started the Wild Rose D-tox last Tuesday, and for the most part, felt much like many of you did - loose bowels, mild cramps - actually not as bad as I had expected.  Bought the cookbook (for those of you looking for it, you should be able to buy it in the same place you bought the kit - if they don't have it, they should order it for you.  It's also available on the wild rose website www.wildrose.com) have enjoyed trying some new recipes, and losing some weight.

What I was not prepared for was the muscle/joint aches and pains that started night before last.  Does anyone know if this is normal?  Also, if I take Tylenol for the pain, am I defeating the purpose of the cleanse?  I couldn't fall asleep without it.

To the person who asked regarding artificial sweeteners (Splenda, etc.) remember, they are artificial, and probably shouldn't be used.  Again, check with the website to contact the people there directly.  They were very helpful for me when I called to get information for the cookbook.  If this pain doesn't go away by Monday morning, I'll be calling them again!

Thanks!

Hey I'm back. I'm on day 10.5. I think I'm going to get up on Saturday and enjoy my first cup of coffee since starting. As for the muscle pain, are you drinking loooooooots of water? I didn't get any of that but each person will experience different things. Here's a question, I've been using that whitening mouthwash for the last three months and I had thought that my teeth had pretty much gotten as white as they were going to. How was I to know that I was wrong. Has anyone else found that their teeth got whiter at or near the end of the cleanse? I'm not complaining. Other than that I'm really looking forward to a cucumber and cheese sandwich.

Thanks I'll talk to you at the end.
